Their study, which aimed to determine how the mineral potassium affects blood flow and artery health, examined mice who received a diet containing either low, normal, or high levels of potassium.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mice given a low-potassium diet had much harder arteries than their counterparts. Mice who received high levels of potassium, on the other hand, showed significantly less artery hardening and reduced stiffness in their aorta. Next, they plan to test the effects of a high-potassium diet on humans.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The National Institute of Health recommends that adults consume about 3,500 mg of potassium per day. \n<\/u>\u27a2 Four inmates who repeatedly escaped from a federal prison in Texas so they could return with whiskey and cellphones are back in custody after they were finally caught in the act. The men were spotted leaving the prison grounds and cutting through a neighboring ranch. When arrested later, they were found to be carrying contraband in bags, including whiskey and cellphones. The arrests came after repeated reports of their escapes and returning to the prison with contraband, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n
