Cena, who plays a firefighter in the upcoming film \u201cPlaying With Fire\u201d, out Nov. 8, has announced that in honor of First Responders Day, he\u2019s donating $500,000 to two charities: Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and California Fire Foundation. In a video posted to Twitter, he says: \u201cCalifornia is in dire straights. It is burning. It is under siege from massive wildfires statewide. Which means our first responders are working around the clock and they need our help.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Lloyd hopes there will be a fourth \u201cBack to the Future\u201d film. The 81-year-old starred as Emmett \u2018Doc\u2019 Brown in the iconic film trilogy between 1985 and 1990, and now says that he would love for there to be a new installment to the franchise, although he doesn\u2019t think it will happen. He says it&#8217;s still one of the strongest and BEST memories he has from back then.\u00a0 And he wants to make sure other kids continue to have their wishes granted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So for the last six years, he&#8217;s raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by doing a HAUNTED HOUSE for Halloween. winter.<\/p>\n<p>One of the strangest things about this year&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>World Series<\/strong>\u00a0is that\u00a0home field\u00a0advantage was actually a DISADVANTAGE.\u00a0\u00a0The home team LOST ALL SEVEN GAMES in the series.\u00a0 This is the ONLY\u00a0time in the history of professional sports where the road team has won all seven games of a playoff series.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Nationals are the\u00a02ndteam in MLB history to win the World Series after being at least 12 games below .500 during the regular season.\u00a0 The 1914 former Cy Young winners started a World Series Game 7.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Astros were HUGE favorites coming into the series.\u00a0 ESPN had\u00a0reported\u00a0that\u00a0they\u00a0were the biggest World Series favorites since 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The Nationals had never won a single playoff series until this year . . . while the Astros have been good for a while.\u00a0 They won\u00a0it all\u00a0two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, the Nationals had a ROUGH start to the season.\u00a0 They were 19-31 on May 23rd, and were in second-to-last place in the National League.<\/p>\n<p>The Nationals also lost their star\u00a0<strong>Bryce Harper<\/strong>\u00a0in the off-season, when he left to sign a $330 million contract with 2019)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>_______________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>A Kid in a Wheelchair Got Another Epic Halloween Costume from His Dad<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a 15-year-old kid in Massachusetts named Tommy Hardy who&#8217;s autistic and has cerebral palsy, so he uses a wheelchair.\u00a0 And he loves Halloween.\u00a0 So his dad Tom always makes him an elaborate costume to trick-or-treat in.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Past costumes have included a police car . . . an X-wing fighter from\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Star Wars&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0. . . and one of the dragons from\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Game of Thrones&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And this year, he&#8217;s going as a FIGHTER JET.\u00a0 Specifically, an SR-71 Blackbird, which the Air Force used from the mid &#8217;60s through the late &#8217;90s.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His dad and some buddies spent about 100 hours on it over the past month. \u00a0They mostly used random parts from his garage.\u00a0 So the whole thing only cost about $75.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This costume&#8217;s special though, because it&#8217;s dedicated to Tommy&#8217;s grandparents who both passed away this year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They both served in the Air Force during Vietnam.\u00a0 So their names and ranks are printed on the tail.\u00a0 And their photos are right next to the control panel in the cockpit<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>HALLOWEEN WITH A BANG:<\/u><\/strong><u><br \/>\n<\/u>The residents of Vancouver, BC have a longstanding tradition, not typically seen in other parts of the world, of setting off fireworks at Halloween.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But now that tradition could be extinguished after a city councilor put forward a motion proposing to outlaw the sale of fireworks in the days leading up to Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Though response from the public on the matter has been divided, one of the strongest viewpoints was put forth by a historical researcher, who wrote that the ritual has been associated at times with \u201cmayhem, hooliganism, riots, severe burns and the occasional death\u201d since its inception more than 100 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>According to the motion, fireworks in urban areas can cause anxiety in wildlife, pets and humans and their use should be limited to large public events. It&#8217;s one of Luke&#8217;s wife,\u00a0<strong>Caroline<\/strong>&#8216;s, favorite holidays, and she also loves a good prank. Luke tells us that one of her Halloween decorations scared the life out of him late one night.\u00a0<strong>[<\/strong>&#8220;My wife bought those little things where the witch taps on the glass. Well so I&#8217;m at the house, like I get home off the road. It&#8217;s like 12:15 at night and I&#8217;m brushing my teeth and I hear something go\u00a0(tap, tap, tap)\u00a0and this witch, you stick it to the outside of your glass and look up and there is a witch tapping and . . . yeah, so . . . that&#8217;s what my wife does to me during Halloween.\u00a0(I)\u00a0choked on my toothpaste.&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Luke wrapped up his\u00a0<em>Sunset Repeat Tour<\/em>\u00a0on Friday (October 25th) at Ford Field in Detroit, and he&#8217;s got one last makeup date on his\u00a0<em>Farm Tou<\/em>r to play this Wednesday (October 30th) in Louisburg, KS.<\/p>\n<p>His brand new single, &#8220;What She Wants Tonight,&#8221; was just released to country radio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THOMAS RHETT AND FAMILY CONTINUE HALLOWEEN THEME TRADITION <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas Rhett<\/strong>\u00a0and his family will do Halloween as a group again. The foursome trick-or-treated last year as characters from the animated movie\u00a0<em>Monsters, Inc<\/em>. This year&#8217;s plan is to take things under the sea as they continue this new themed tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas tells us:\u00a0[\u201cWe\u2019re all gonna be\u00a0<em>Little Mermaid<\/em>. So, Lauren\u2019s Ursula and Willa Gray is Ariel, Ada is Flounder, I\u2019m Prince Eric and our dogs are Flotsam and Jetsam. We started that trend last year, and there\u2019s a lot of great Disney Pixar superheroes to pick from, and hopefully we can just continue on that trend.\u201d]<br \/>\nThomas is off the road for the remainder of the year.<\/p>\n<p>His next appearance will be at the\u00a0<em>CMA Awards<\/em>\u00a0on November 13th in Nashville where he is nominated for Male Vocalist and Album of the Year for\u00a0<em>Center Point Road<\/em>.
