{"id":10906,"date":"2019-11-01T09:35:53","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T13:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=10906"},"modified":"2019-11-01T05:14:31","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T09:14:31","slug":"on-todays-show-267","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/mornings\/2019\/11\/on-todays-show-267\/","title":{"rendered":"On Today&#8217;s Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 42-year-old guy in Australia was\u00a0out hunting when he walked through an area with shallow water.\u00a0 And he thought he stepped on a log, but it was really a 15-foot crocodile that spun around and bit him in the CROTCH.\u00a0 He started punching it in the nose and managed to get away.\u00a0 He did an interview later on from his hospital bed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Experts say Hybrid \u201csuper pigs\u201d may soon become a problem in Southwestern Ontario,<\/p>\n<p>The result of cross-breeding between wild and domestic pigs, this invasive species has been spotted throughout the region \u2013 with confirmed sightings from Windsor to Brantford and the group that tracks sightings throughout the province, has a photo of a wild pig taken on Sept. 1 just east of Leamington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an invasive species originally brought to North America (in the 1980s) for meat production,\u201d said Ryan Brook, a professor at the University of Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n<p><em>They are currently completely out of control (in Saskatchewan). This is exactly what you don\u2019t want in Ontario. <\/em>\u00a0\u201cThey will literally eat almost anything,\u201d Brook said. \u201cThey\u2019ll go into fields and eat crops and just destroy them. They use their nose to tear the ground up, so the damage is especially devastating to crops and ecosystems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While still rare in Southwestern Ontario, the pigs are \u201ca looming problem,\u201d says Larry Davis, an Ontario Federation of Agriculture representative. The next morning, he felt sick, so he went into concussion protocol.\u00a0 He missed Boston&#8217;s first two games, but was cleared to play on Saturday night.\u00a0 He\u00a0logged\u00a0four minutes, and scored four points with three rebounds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tacko is expected to have a minimal role this season . . . he was signed as an undrafted rookie over the summer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>(For what it&#8217;s worth, some reports say Tacko is 7-foot-6, and some say he is 24 years old.)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0_____________________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>RECYCLING A GREAT IDEA:<\/u><\/strong><u><br \/>\n<\/u>A young Dutch inventor is widening his efforts to clean up floating plastic from the Pacific Ocean, this time turning his attention to rivers, using a new device to catch it before it ever reaches the seas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>25-year-old Boyan Slat, a university dropout, founded The Ocean Cleanup to develop a system he invented when he was 18 that catches plastic waste floating in the ocean. Now, he has unveiled his next step:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A floating solar-powered device called the \u201cInterceptor\u201d that scoops plastic out of rivers as it drifts past. He calls rivers \u201cthe arteries that carry the trash from land to sea.
