There are approximately 160 known types of rhinovirus, which explains why getting a cold doesn\u2019t make you immune to picking up another one a month later.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But researchers at Stanford and the University of California say they may have found a way to stop many of these viruses in their tracks. They completed a survey that ranked their level of optimism, tracking the women for 10 years and the men for 30 years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And it was found that those who have a more positive outlook have an 11 to 15% longer lifespan, and 50 to 70% greater odds of reaching 85 years old compared to those who are less optimistic.
