______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The only way to get to Cape Lookout National Seashore, a 56-mile chain of undeveloped barrier islands in North Carolina\u2019s Outer Banks, is by boat so officials were shocked when they found some unexpected new inhabitants: 3 bedraggled-looking cows making themselves at home on the sandy shores.<\/p>\n A park spokesman thinks they swam at least four miles to get there after Hurricane Dorian swept them out to sea. They to belong to a herd of feral \u201csea cows\u201d that previously roamed Cedar Island, which is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Roughly 20 cows had freely roamed on private land on the island, and they were all gone.<\/p>\n Cows actually are fairly decent\u00a0swimmers when they need to be. It\u2019s not unusual for them to paddle their way to higher ground during a storm when need be.<\/p>\n The most likely outcome for these cows is that they will be sedated and lifted onto a boat. Bennett said her husband searched underwater, but was unable to find it. She said she thought the phone, which had treasured text messages from her late father, was gone forever.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n YouTuber Michael “Nugget Noggin\u201d Bennett was diving in the Edisto River 15 months later when he found the iPhone at the bottom of the water. “I came across something that looked like a rope maybe attached to car keys, and when I pulled it up, I saw a phone inside of a waterproof case, and I’m like, \u2018no way this is unbelievable.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He took the phone out of the case, hooked it to a charger, and to his surprise it started up. He was able to contact the phone’s owner and return it to her.
