And by people who love chocolate, I mean everyone.

According to a new report, chocolate is every bit as effective in soothing a cough as codeine or any other pharmaceutical solution. Professor Alyn Morice, a respected authority on all things related to coughs and medicine, wrote in the Daily Mail that chocolate can soothe a cough better than codeine syrup by forming a sticky coating that protects the nerve endings in your throat that cause you to cough.

Melted chocolate also allows cough-supressing ingredients naturally present in cocoa to help calm your throat nerves. But here’s the weird thing: Drinking hot chocolate doesn’t have the same cough supressing effect, because the diluted chocolate solution doesn’t stay in contact long enough with the nerves in your throat.

You’re much better off sucking on a piece of chocolate, and letting it slowly melt, and coat your throat.

______________________________________________________________________

TUESDAY DECEMBER 3RD

TODAY’S BIRTHDAYS

[59] Julianne Moore, actress

[59] Daryl Hannah, actress

[51] Brendan Fraser, actor

[40] Tiffany Haddish, actress

[34] Amanda Seyfried, actress

——————————————————————————————————————————-

NHL

BUF 7 – NJD 1 VGK 4 – NYR 1 NYI 4 – DET 1 STL 4 – CHI 0 ANA 4 – LAK 2

• “Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special” (ABC): From Nashville’s War Memorial Auditorium; a combination of Paisley’s signature humor, unexpected surprises, heartfelt field pieces and rousing musical performances.
• “CMA Country Christmas” (ABC): Legendary acts and country music stars perform Christmas classics and festive collaborations; Trisha Yearwood hosts and performs; performers include Kristin Chenoweth, For King & Country, Chris Janson, Tori Kelly and Lady Antebellum.
• “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (NBC): The classic 1966 animated tale about the lonely and heartless title character who decides to dress up as Santa and steal the Christmas decorations, gifts and feast from the people of Whoville.

Bill Murray was on Amy Schumer’s podcast and said he likes to watch “Family Feud” but skips to “Fast Money” because he doesn’t always like the tactics used in the early rounds. He talked about it on Amy Schumer’s podcast.

Sara Schafer makes fun of people filling their homes with inspirational sayings, on pieces of driftwood. Live.
