A resident of Dover Centre, Adrien Vanheste, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the age of 89.<\/p>\n
Born in Belgium, Adrien immigrated to Canada from Belgium with his wife and two children in 1956.<\/p>\n
Son of the late Jerome & Liza (nee Thevelein).<\/p>\n
Beloved husband for 62 years to the late Mary Vanheste (nee Vanhooren).<\/p>\n
Loving father of Nicole (Nikki) & Eric Carr, Willy & Donna Vanheste, Linda & Ken McFadden, Rita & Fern Godreau, and Diane & Guil Godreau.<\/p>\n
Forever missed by his 11 grandchildren; Jason (Kristen) Carr, Jamie (Shawna) Carr, Steven Vanheste, Kevin (Melanie) Vanheste, Ryan Vanheste, Melissa Ellens, Mark (Nicole) McFadden, Michael Godreau, Jeff Godreau, Amanda Godreau, & Daniel (Johanna) Godreau and 16 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Survived by numerous relatives in Belgium.<\/p>\n
He will be missed by special friends, Larry & Joyce Delrue.<\/p>\n
Adrien worked many years as a Concrete Truck Driver with Dresden Ready Mix. He enjoyed spending time with his chickens and rabbits, gardening and helping his friend, Larry. He was a member of the Canadian Dutch Belgium Archery Club in Wallaceburg, Chatham and Detroit.<\/p>\n
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for Dr. Misra, the 4th floor staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the staff of the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their caring and compassionate support with Adrien.<\/p>\n
Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 10:00 am until the Service time of 12:00 pm. Burial to follow the Reception in Maple Leaf Cemetery.<\/p>\n
Donations in memory of Adrien to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.<\/p>\n
