A resident of Chatham, Norman Owen passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home at the age of 90.<\/p>\n
He was the son of the late Leslie & Rose (nee Moon) Owen.<\/p>\n
Beloved husband of 70 years to Jeannette (nee Bechard).<\/p>\n
Loving Father of Brenda Gibson (Terry), James Owen (Kathy) & Annette Thomas (Mark).<\/p>\n
Loving Papa of Jeffery Gibson (Kim), Melissa Gibson, Kevin Owen (Stephanie), the late Scott Owen (1998), Amy Thomas (Wes), Greg Thomas (Robin) & Grant Thomas (Sarah).<\/p>\n
Loving Great-Papa of 11 great-grandchildren, Brady, Jamie, Owen, Colton, Ashton, Larkin, Evelyn, Isla, Asher, Scarlet & Willow.<\/p>\n
Brother of Dorothy Brown (Cliff) & the late William Owen (Alea).<\/p>\n
Brother-in-law of the late Vern Bechard (Mary-Lou), Ivan Bechard (the late Dora), Beverly Crow (the late Robert), the late Jerome Bechard (Zuzanna), Gerard Bechard (Margo), Norbert Bechard (Noreen) (the late Jean).<\/p>\n
Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.<\/p>\n
Norm retired from Navistar International as a Tool & Die Maker after over 40 years of Service. Norm was a former member of the Army Cadets with the Vocational School within Chatham. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Norm enjoyed playing cards, having a beer with his friends and bowling with Jeannette. He enjoyed when the grandchildren & great-grandchildren came to visit.<\/p>\n
The Owen family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff on 3 East of Riverview Gardens for their loving care and compassion with Norm over the years.<\/p>\n
Family to receive friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.<\/p>\n
