A 16-year-old Indian boy used 5,450 playing cards to create a 10-foot, 7-inch model of the Burj Khalifa says he hopes the feat will break a Guinness World Record. Vishnu Vasu already made it into the Asia Book of Records for tallest house of cards when he built his replica for the landmark without using any glue or tape. He says it took five hours and 30 minutes to create, and that he hopes to one day break the Guinness Record by making a card structure that tops 23 feet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 Andy Serkis raised more than $360,000 with his live reading of \u201cThe Hobbit\u201d last Friday. The \u2018Gollum\u2019 actor read the entire novel in one sitting \u2013 a feat that took him just under 11 hours. Money raised from the \u201cHobbitathon\u201d will be split between British National Health Service \u201cCharities Together\u201d and \u201cBest Beginnings\u201d, a children\u2019s charity that Serkis is an ambassador for.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 A Virginia man waiting to cash in his $1,000 winning lottery ticket ended up winning an additional $177,777 before collecting his prize. Jeff Melick was waiting until the lottery&#8217;s customer service centers reopened to cash in his $1,000 winning scratch-off ticket when he purchased a Lucky 7s Tripler ticket. The ticket turned out to be a $177,777 top prize winner. He plans to use some of his winnings to pay it forward by taking care of strangers&#8217; purchases at his local convenience store.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 I\u2019m sure you\u2019re used to seeing ice cream vans making their rounds every summer. But this year, there could be a new truck dropping by your neighborhood. A Toronto start-up called \u201cGrocery Neighbour\u201d is offering up a fleet of mobile supermarkets on wheels to allow people to buy groceries as they swing through the area. Founder Frank Sinopoli says the company will let people know where the grocery truck is, and when, via text message. Grocery trucks will only feature one aisle, but that aisle will contain \u201call the necessities\u201d including refrigerated items. In Toronto, a woman has been leading daily outdoor line dancing for people in her community.
