We only have one gear: wide open. It was a little bit Russian roulette, a little bit &#8216;here we are as we are.&#8217;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Among the subjects covered in the lengthy feature is Midland\u2019s group dynamic.<\/p>\n<p>The band admits they actively work to ensure that all three members, including Cameron Duddy, are comfortable and happy in the group.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe plan on doing this for a long time, so we have to take care of ourselves and maintain our relationship. We all want to be one collective team.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But collaboration hasn\u2019t always come naturally to the trio.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron admits that he and Mark used to butt heads because they\u2019re both so competitive.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Duddy said they got rid of their backgammon set because it was causing too much friction.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThere was a lot of fighting about you name it: Someone\u2019s guitar level, who drank the last sparkling water.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fortunately, the group learned to prioritize what\u2019s important, and these days, they check in frequently with each other and keep any disagreements offstage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Midland recently found themselves the subjects of an immersive profile that ran in the Washington Post.
