The proposed bylaw before Niagara-on-the-Lake council would\u2019ve banned noise louder than 50 decibels (dB) overnight and 55 dB throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>A normal conversation is typically 60 dB. The bylaw also called for a ban on \u201cyelling, shouting, hooting, whistling or singing\u201d after 9 p.m., while also imposing a $350 fine for a number of common overnight sounds such as barking dogs, idling cars, snow blowers and musical instruments. The bylaw was proposed mainly to crack down on partying in short-term rental homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 Some people hide their stash of candy in a secret location, and some hide their stash of beer in a public library. Staff at a library in Walla Walla, Washington, have been changing the library\u2019s layout while it\u2019s closed to the public due to the pandemic. While working recently to move the mystery book collection to a different spot, a crew member removed a corner panel on some 1970s-era shelving with an open top. Behind it he found five unopened cans of beer, and a packet of opened gum. The City posted about the find on Facebook, noting they think the items have been there for \u201cupward of 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 Two frontline nurses in Miami\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/nurses-get-new-apartment-after-home-destroyed-in-fire\/2274704\/\"><strong>lost their apartment in a fire<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0late last month.\u00a0 But then a teenager with a nonprofit called &#8220;Helping Hands&#8221; saw their story . . . found them a new place to live . . . and covered their rent for the first three months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 \u201cCSI\u201d is coming back to TV and it\u2019s bringing along some familiar faces. Reportedly, original series stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox are in negotiations to star in the event series revival \u201cCSI: Vegas\u201d. They played fan-favourite couple Grissom and Sara. Along with the returning stars, the new series will feature four new main characters. Originally, the plan was for \u201cCSI: Vegas\u201d to air in time for the show\u2019s 20th anniversary in October, but it\u2019s been delayed due to the pandemic. The plan now is for filming to begin this fall.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2The\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Golden Girls&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0house has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/home\/the-golden-girls-house-in-l-a-is-for-sale-for-3m-see-inside\/\"><strong>sold<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for $4 million, which is a whopping $1 million OVER the asking price.<\/p>\n<p>The exact price was $4,000,620, which is a LOT considering the house doesn&#8217;t even look like the\u00a0<em>&#8220;Golden Girls&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0house on the inside.\u00a0 It was only used for the EXTERIOR shots.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, it isn&#8217;t located in the middle of nowhere . . . or even Florida for that matter . . . it&#8217;s in the highly-desirable Brentwood area of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>It has four bedrooms, and is 2,901 square feet.<\/p>\n<p>The house received 20 offers in 14 days . . . resulting in a BIDDING WAR among nine people.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no word on who bought it . . . but sadly, it was NOT\u00a0<strong>BETTY WHITE<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;People&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0said the bidders were not celebrities.\u00a0 It&#8217;s unclear if that includes HGTV, which purchased the\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Brady Bunch&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0house back in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>TODAY IS\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cFajita Day\u201d, originally made from throwaway cuts of beef by Mexican chefs in Southwest Texas, the fajita was developed as a regional staple in the early 1930s. Until now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, thieves are making a fortune by stealing \u201cbeige gold\u201d that has been left out to be recycled, and selling it. That, of course, means legitimate recycling firms, and the city or county who usually get a cut of the sales, are missing out on tend of millions of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The issue has been brought to light in Spain, where a division of the Spanish Guardia Civil police force has been brought in to help stop gangs from stealing cardboard.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been estimated that almost half of all cardboard put into recycling in Madrid is being stolen. On Sunday, Aug. 2, the group of five set off on the four kilometre hike to the waterfall and back on a route that included rough and steep terrain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At first, the guys just took turns using brute force and tried to push my chair up that mountain,\u201d.\u00a0 After struggling to push his wheelchair up the trail, one of the guys came up with the idea to stick logs underneath the wheelchair and carry Aaron.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We just wanted to see the waterfall, and Aaron goes wherever we go,&#8221; said Peters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will admit, I was a little nervous,&#8221; said Friesen. &#8220;I always am when we do these hiking trips. It&#8217;s so much fun, though. The laughter, adrenaline and feeling of accomplishment you get after completing a task like this is unreal!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The friends, who met through different church events and outings in Edmonton, have known each other for several years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The act captured the attention of Mary Dorchester who was also at the canyon. Mark Abrials, chief marketing officer at mattress company Avocado says, \u201cPeople are spending so much time at home and less time and money eating out or going on vacations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>People are putting more money into the home next and other things that make them feel good.\u201d And it\u2019s not just traditional mattresses that are getting all the attention\u2014the increase in people working from home means adjustable mattresses are seeing an uptick in sales as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Furniture e-commerce site Wayfair also reports it\u2019s seeing an uptick in sales across all categories\u2014they added some five million new customers last quarter, which is more than the company netted in the past year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>A Couple Is Busted for Going on a Naked Dog Walk<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cops in Hopkinton, Massachusetts got a call around 6:30 A.M. on Monday about a couple who was walking their dog . . . It is the greatest living room that the family of Country music has together, and I&#8217;ve always felt like I was a part of it, but to be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame, it is beyond words.
