Despite the best efforts of their owner to keep the pair apart, Bella gave birth to 16 pups. Sadly, one died, but it is still one of the largest single deliveries ever.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 A pair of centenarians in Ecuador have been crowned the world\u2019s oldest married couple by Guinness World Records. 104-year-old Waldramina Quinteros, and her 110-year-old husband Julio Mora have been married for 79 years. They wed in secret in 1941 because \u201cboth families disapproved\u201d at the time, but they say they knew it was \u201cmeant to be\u201d. While there are longer marriages, Quinteros and Mora hold the title as the eldest \u2013 just shy of a combined 215 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 A second grader humiliate her Mother by bringing a bottle of Malibu rum to show and tell. RAIN<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The British Columbia coast is no stranger to showers and frequent bouts of heavy rain in the fall and winter, but calling this summer a washout might even be a bit an understatement for Prince Rupert.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The jet stream didn&#8217;t behave accordingly or weaken enough to give those along the North Coast a bit of a break from the rain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prince Rupert attempted to close in on one metre of rainfall this meteorological summer, clocking nearly 800 mm of rain in June, July and August. That makes the summer precipitation over 200% of normal. In other words, the wettest summer on record. August was particularly anomalous with 419 mm \u2013 a staggering 250% of normal. In fact, it appears to be the third rainiest month over the past 10+ years!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On top of it all, it was the persistence of the rainfall that stands out. The tiny plastic fibers (5mm long) have even been found in the deep sea.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now, University of Toronto researchers say your blue jeans are doing the same thing. Environmentalists had hoped that organic fibers might not be as persistent as plastic ones, but tiny pieces of jeans and other cotton clothing have been found in the Arctic Ocean in Canada\u2019s north, far from human activity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>How? Our wastewater treatment plants don\u2019t filter all the microfibers out, and from there, they are deposited into bodies of water, with deep-sea currents eventually transporting them almost anywhere. What\u2019s the risk? Fish and other sea creatures consume them, thereby allowing them to enter the food chain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What can you do about it? There are special filters which can be attached to washing machines to filter the microfilters from flowing to wastewater treatment plants. Those should become standard on all washing machines. According to\u00a0<em>Pew Research<\/em>, 52% of 18-to-29-year-olds are living with one or both parents.
