What about one with a sinister past? The home where Lizzie Borden moved after her murder acquittal in 1892 is for sale, located in Fall River, Massachusetts. While the house has no reported history of hauntings, it does need significant renovation, which is arguably worse. The seven bedroom home could be yours for $890,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u27a2It\u2019s important to know the local laws when traveling somewhere you\u2019re unfamiliar with. Authorities in Italy say a French tourist was fined $1,200 for attempting to smuggle more than four pounds of the famous white sand from Sardinia out of the country. Sardinia\u2019s Forest Rangers say the tourist was stopped at the Airport and ordered to pay the fine after a bottle containing the sand was found on him. A spokesman said \u201cAt the end of the year we usually have many bottles of sand accumulated.\u201d A law introduced in 2017 made it illegal to take sand from Sardinia\u2019s beaches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u27a2This man could\u2019ve been a hero\u2014but luckily it wasn\u2019t necessary. A London man recently dropped some old clothing into a donation bin when he heard a cat meow-ing. Alan McElligott says police and firefighters responded to the scene and agreed it seemed a cat was trapped inside the container. The firefighters eventually used heavy tools to open the locked contained, and found a battery-operated stuffed toy, a FurReal Friends cat, that produced \u201cvery convincing meows.\u201d McElligott said the responding officers had a good laugh at the outcome of the unusual rescue.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 \u201cSurvivor\u201d fans are going to have to wait a bit longer than usual for the next season. While many other shows have been able to resume production, Survivor has faced a series of unique challenges amidst this pandemic because the show films in Fiji. It was originally hoped that production could resume this fall, but due to new safety measures from the Fijian government, the country\u2019s borders are closed to non-citizens. As a result, production will not resume in Fiji\u2019s Mamanuca Islands until April at the earliest.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>TODAY IS\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cNut Day\u201d. Not this guy. Chuck Feeney, the cofounder of retail giant Duty Free Shoppers, wanted to die broke, and now he officially is. His \u201cAtlantic Philanthropies\u201d was set up years ago as part of his plan to make high-impact donations and set a hard deadline to give away all his money. That organization was officially shuttered on Sept. 14 \u2013 mission accomplished. Where did the money go? She has now played there more than 75 times and says she feels that of her generation, other artist don&#8217;t &#8220;put in the work&#8221; for the Opry like she does. Carly tells us more:<strong>\u00a0[<\/strong>\u201cI always associated playing the Grand Ole Opry with \u2018making it.\u2019\u00a0 And when I played on my debut I was an Air B and B cleaner, so I had not made it, but I felt like in that moment, that the Opry took a chance on me.\u00a0I didn\u2019t have a song on the radio but they just believed in what I was doing.\u00a0And to be able to really say \u2026 like, I know people play the Opry and stuff, but I don\u2019t feel like there\u2019s another artist in my generation that\u2019s really put\u00a0in the work the way that I have with the Opry.\u00a0And I do feel like they kind of were one of the very first champions for me.\u00a0 And I meant it the day that I stepped on that stage, like I want to be a face of the Opry.\u00a0I want to be one of those people, in the way that I feel like Carrie Underwood really took it on at the height of her career and put into it what it deserves, and I want to carry on that legacy.\u00a0I think performing 75 times in five years, hopefully they know that by now.\u201d]<\/p>\n<p>Becoming an Opry member is on Carly\u2019s bucket list.
