For millions\u00a0 Alex Trebek felt like one of the family.<\/p>\n<p>And in an episode that aired this month,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/albertthakur\/status\/1324571132851154945\">Burt Thakur<\/a>\u00a0wiped tears from his eyes as he thanked Trebek for teaching him English.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My grandfather, who raised me &#8230; I used to sit on his lap and watch you every day,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/entertainment\/2020\/11\/07\/alex-trebek-burt-thakur-jeopardy-english-orig-llr.cnn\">Thakur said<\/a>\u00a0at the end of the episode after he&#8217;d netted over $20,000. &#8220;So it&#8217;s a pretty special moment for me man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 One day after his 64th birthday, a COVID-19 patient in Iowa just\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwqc.com\/2020\/10\/13\/davenport-man-beats-covid-19-after-99-days-in-hospital-family-says\/\"><strong>went<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0home after 99 days in the hospital.\u00a0 That includes six weeks in quarantine in the ICU before he tested negative.\u00a0 His wife says the nurses who took care of him are all heroes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 A weird thing is happening in Akita City, Japan. Authorities there say back in 2014 they would get phantom calls from empty homes way out in the mountains late at night, but once fire trucks arrived they would find the home closed up and nobody home.<\/p>\n<p>However, since May 2020 there have been many cases of phones seeming calling 1-1-9 (their version of 9-1-1) by themselves all across the city.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been no definite explanation found, but the fire chief inspector believes it could be due to rotary telephones being used that have yet to be updated to touch tone phones, though even that doesn\u2019t explain why it\u2019s been happening more lately than ever before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 A new survey found almost everyone who&#8217;s made or built something in quarantine thinks it&#8217;s good enough to give as a gift this Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>And 85% who&#8217;ve made something said they WILL give at least one of their creations away as a present this year.\u00a0 So what kind of stuff should you expect?<\/p>\n<p>The top items we&#8217;ve made or created while stuck at home include baked goods . . . artwork . . . photo albums . . . and things you knit, like sweaters and blankets.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u27a2 The three greatest \u201cJeopardy\u201d players are coming together again. In a release, Nestle, which owns Purina, said that the insect protein comes from black soldier fly larvae, which is already in use in animal feed in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They say the feed, which also includes millet and fava beans, provides protein, energy and fiber to aid digestion.
