It stores everything from our scent, to the sound of our voice. The \u201cWaffle House Index\u201d is a phrase coined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which uses the Waffle House chain as an indication of which areas have been hardest hit by a disaster.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are three colors on the index \u2014 green, yellow and red. \u00a0When a Waffle House closes, it\u2019s a code red on the index. The longer it takes for a location to reopen is a sign of just how powerful a storm is, because let\u2019s face it, if a Waffle House is closed after a natural disaster, that\u2019s a bad sign.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Waffle House has made it policy to be open for emergency workers and customers to eat when there\u2019s nowhere else to turn. The sold-out show, which takes place on Saturday (October 20th), will now be a televised event.\u00a0<em>Garth: Live from Notre Dame!\u00a0<\/em>will air on December 2nd at 8 PM ET on CBS.<\/p>\n<p>The concert presents a new opportunity for Notre Dame students, they\u2019re doing something called <strong><em>Student Sound check<\/em><\/strong> on Friday night, before Saturday, they\u2019ve opened it up to anybody with a student ID it&#8217;s free. Also open to faculty, staff but they to pay to get in, but every penny goes to a scholarship for the college<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>LORETTA LYNN BOWS OUT OF CMT ARTISTS OF THE YEAR SPECIAL DUE TO ILLNESS \u00a0\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Illness forced\u00a0Loretta Lynn\u00a0to cancel her scheduled appearance at last night&#8217;s (Wednesday, October 17th)\u00a0<em>CMT Artists of the Year\u00a0<\/em>special where she was being honored as the Artist of a Lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>Actress\u00a0Sissy Spacek\u00a0was there to present the honor and accepted the Artist of a Lifetime award on Loretta&#8217;s behalf. Sissy played Loretta in the 1980 film\u00a0<em>Coal Miner&#8217;s Daughter<\/em>, ultimately winning an Oscar for her portrayal.
