Sotheby\u2019s auction house in New York says a man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased a floral bowl for $35 at a yard sale in New Haven, Connecticut in 2020 and sent photos of the object to an auction specialist to see if it was a genuine antique. The porcelain bowl was identified as a \u201clotus bowl\u201d from the court of the Yongle Emperor, who ruled China from 1403 until 1424. Sotheby\u2019s says only six other lotus bowls from the same period are known to still exist. Cops arrested Mary Ann for domestic battery, and she&#8217;s not allowed to have any contact with the cousin for now.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>____________________________________________________________________________<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Can Concerts Return This Summer?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Live Nation is planning to host outdoor amphitheater shows by mid-summer.\u00a0 And they&#8217;re pretty optimistic that, quote, &#8220;events can return to regular capacity&#8221; soon after the vaccine becomes widely available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unfortunately, it&#8217;ll probably take longer than that for the touring industry to start up again.\u00a0 We may even have to wait until next year.\u00a0 And there are a few reasons for that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First, it&#8217;s going to be a while before indoor venues are allowed to operate close to full capacity, and indoor shows may not be worthwhile until then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It&#8217;s also not worth it for an artist to tour if the whole country isn&#8217;t in sync.\u00a0 One music exec says, quote, &#8220;You can&#8217;t do Swiss-cheese routing. \u00a0If it&#8217;s got holes in it because certain states haven&#8217;t opened up, it&#8217;s generally not going to work.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A lot of people in the live music industry have cold feet about even announcing anything at this point, because so many things have been pushed back so many times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So while it looks like there will be some shows this year . . . at least at outdoor venues . . . it remains to be seen if anyone will make the move to start touring again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>___________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>MOST DANGEROUS INTERSECTION IN CK\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The next time you drive through the intersection of Keil Drive and Richmond Street in Chatham, take an extra look around because it tops the list of Chatham-Kent intersections with the most collisions in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chatham-Kent police (CKPS) reported on Tuesday that Keil and Richmond had 14 crashes last year, followed by the intersections of McNaughton and Reaume in Wallaceburg with 13, Grand and Keil with 12, and Lacroix and Richmond with 10.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other statistics compiled by police showed eight fatal crashes last year, the same as 2019, with half of them being alcohol related and some of them involving both alcohol use and people not wearing seatbelts. The data also showed that most of the impaired related crashes involved drunk drivers but drug impairment is up from 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CKPS also reported a 34 per cent drop in crash calls overall in 2020, likely because the COVID-19 pandemic had people staying at home and working from home. They also said crashes reported to the collision centre went from 2,265 in 2019 to 1,640 in 2020. RIDE stats were also down significantly because of the pandemic.
