{"id":21714,"date":"2021-04-15T09:35:28","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T13:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=21714"},"modified":"2021-04-15T05:16:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-15T09:16:14","slug":"on-todays-show-586","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/mornings\/2021\/04\/on-todays-show-586\/","title":{"rendered":"On Today&#8217;s Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u27a2 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Six years ago this week, the CEO of a company called Gravity Payments announced he was slashing his own salary and paying ALL of his 130 employees at least $70,000 a year.\u00a0 Which a lot of people thought was nuts.\u00a0 But he posted an\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/dan-price-gravity-payments-cut-salary_n_60760cebe4b001befb6d8b9f\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">update<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0the other day: He&#8217;s added 70 more workers since then, and revenue has tripled.\u00a0 (Here&#8217;s a clip that includes his original announcement to employees, plus some more recent statements about it.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u27a2 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Have you torn up the carpet in your house since you moved in?\u00a0 You REALLY never know what you might find under there . . .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Someone posted a photo on\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/pics\/comments\/mpt3sv\/while_tearing_up_their_carpet_my_inlaws_found_a\/\"><b>Reddit<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0that showed how their in-laws ripped up their carpet . . . and found a huge MONOPOLY BOARD painted on the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The best theory in the comments is that it was part of a short trend in the 1950s where some people painted or tiled game boards into their floor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u27a2 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A 13-year-old girl from New Mexico named Kaydence Henslee was staying at a hotel in Orlando with her family.\u00a0 And she ended up\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/travel\/teen-saves-drowning-toddler-orlando-spring-break\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">saving<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0a toddler from drowning in the pool.\u00a0 The little girl&#8217;s mom only stepped away for a few minutes.\u00a0 But luckily, Kaydence was paying attention and pulled the girl out.\u00a0 Then someone did CPR, and she&#8217;s okay.\u00a0 (Here&#8217;s an interview with Henslee and the toddler&#8217;s mom.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u27a2 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Netflix has renewed its biggest new original series, \u201cBridgerton,\u201d for seasons 3 and 4, before the second season has even finished shooting. Season 2 is currently in production and, in keeping with the novels it\u2019s based on, tells a new romance story \u2014 that of \u2018Lord Anthony Bridgerton\u2019s\u2019 quest for love. Sadly for fans of the show, Season 1 star Reg\u00e9-Jean Page\u2019s character, the \u2018Duke of Hastings\u2019, will not return for the second season.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>TODAY IS\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cASL Day\u201d, a day of observance celebrating American Sign Language. This was the first franchised McD\u2019s, and the 9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">McDonald\u2019s restaurant overall. Several shows have been pushed back until this fall, while the show in Atlantic City, NJ has been permanently taken off the schedule. The body shop where he worked had reportedly denied Flaten his last paycheck and only paid up with the greasy pennies after Flaten contacted the Department of Labor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But the Coinstar company, known for its coin-cashing kiosks, came to the rescue after the story went viral. Coinstar picked up the coins, which Flaten had stored in a wheelbarrow with wheels that had deflated from the staggering weight and gave him $1,000 in cash.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Because the coins were covered in \u201can oily substance\u201d, Flaten had been spending a few hours each night trying to clean them and says he had only managed to \u201cclean up about $5
