The Toronto Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who hit a towering 468-foot home run in the third inning, won the MVP, becoming at age 22 the youngest MVP in All-Star history.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>Summer is a time for thunderstorms, and a man in Springfield, Massachusetts nearly got struck by lightning, and captured the moment on camera. Bob Brandon said he had just gotten back to his home after work and was taking the trash bins up the driveway when a lightning bolt struck the bin he was pulling behind him. Brandon said it left two holes in the bin and shot back out towards the street. In the video, captured by his home security camera, he\u2019s seen running immediately into his home for shelter. He added that he\u2019s thankful he was not injured during the incident and feels very lucky.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    A Study Found Three Bad Nights of Sleep in a Row Is Rough, and Six Is Soul-Crushing<\/b><\/p>\n

    Most of us stay up too late sometimes, or get a bad night’s sleep.\u00a0 But how many days in a row does it take before you fall apart?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Researchers looked into it, and found things go downhill pretty fast.\u00a0 2,000 people tracked their sleep for over a week.\u00a0 And even just one night of poor sleep had a huge effect on their mental and physical wellbeing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    “Poor sleep” meaning less than six hours a night. Things got worse if they didn’t sleep well for two nights in a row . . . and EVEN worse after three nights.\u00a0 But then it leveled off for a few days.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In other words, some us can deal with three, four, or even five restless nights.\u00a0 But that’s the limit.<\/span><\/p>\n

    And even after one bad night of sleep, people were more likely to feel lonely, angry, nervous, frustrated, and irritable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    A British man who missed England’s semifinal win over Denmark in the Euro 2020 soccer tournament last week so he could donate stem cells was given tickets to\u00a0 Sunday’s (July 11th) final.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    For Sam Astley’s kindness, Euro 2020 sponsor Vivo gave him the tickets for the final, which England ended up losing to Italy on penalty kicks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Astley said the chance to watch England in a semifinal would have been fantastic, but he quickly recognized that donating stem cells was “more important than any football game” and he never considered delaying the procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n

    DAMAGE TO THE STANLEY CUP<\/b><\/p>\n

    The Stanley Cup is in need of repairs, according to multiple reports, with the trophy being damaged during today\u2019s celebration in Tampa.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    For the second year in a row, the Lightning celebrated a championship with a boat parade, beer and champagne flowed which was presumably a contributing factor to the Cup receiving a big dent. A photo has surfaced showing Patrick Maroon holding the damaged trophy.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Ironically, the Stanley Cup will need to be sent to Montreal, where it\u2019ll undergo repairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    What exactly caused the damage to the Cup isn\u2019t clear, though this has been a concern in the past. Philip Pritchard \u2014 the Stanley Cup\u2019s pseudo-bodyguard told the Washington Capitals players to stop doing keg stands off the cup in 2018 due to the potential for damage.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The Cup has been beaten up before. In 1987, Mark Messier damaged it while partying at a nightclub after the Edmonton Oilers won the Cup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    After the Dallas Stars won the championship in 1999, Guy Carbonneau tried to throw it off a deck into a pool, but missed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Babies have pooped in the Cup before. Dogs have eaten out of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Basically, it can tell if someone who isn\u2019t getting results from aerobic exercises like walking, cycling, or swimming, may fare better with higher intensity workouts or resistance training.
