These days you can pay for a lot more things with credit and debit cards, but there are still times when one might need cash. So how much cash should an adult carry on them at any given time these days? Opinions on that vary. A survey found 42 percent of people carry no more than $40 in cash, and 30 percent carry between $41 and $99. But an aggregation of data from various sources finds popular opinion says carrying $200 is just the right amount because it is enough to handle a standard emergency, and it&#8217;s likely enough to cover your bill at a restaurant if your credit card gets declined or if they don\u2019t accept plastic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A company just analyzed what having a phone is going to cost you in your lifetime.\u00a0 And the answer is . . . more than $75,000.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the breakdown:<\/p>\n<p>The phones, buying one every two or three years for 60 years:\u00a0 An average of $567 per phone, for a total of $12,474.<\/p>\n<p>Your monthly bill for the next 60 years:\u00a0 $960 per year, for a total of $57,600.<\/p>\n<p>Apps and accessories:\u00a0 $88 per year, for a total of $5,280.<\/p>\n<p>Now . . . this study assumes that we&#8217;ll still be using phones in the year 2078, and not just sending telepathic messages or whatever.\u00a0 But it also uses today&#8217;s prices, so it&#8217;s not banking on inflation or general price increases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ENTERTAINMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an interview, Mark Wahlberg said his kids are embarrassed by his &#8216;Marky Mark&#8217; past . . . as, you know, they probably should be. morning since they came to the country as refugees from Cambodia almost 40 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But some of his regular customers recently noticed Stella wasn&#8217;t there.\u00a0 John told them she&#8217;d had an aneurysm, so he was working at the store every day and then rushing home to be with her at night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His regulars wanted to set up a GoFundMe, but he Idiot Climbs a $200,000 Sculpture, Until It Snaps<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A video is making the rounds of some idiot at a New Zealand waterfront, who got bored and broke a $200,000 art Put Googly Eyes on a Revolutionary War Hero Statue . . . <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Someone pulled a prank in Savannah, Georgia . . . they stuck two GOOGLY EYES on a statue of Nathanael Greene.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a hero from the Revolutionary War.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for whoever did it, the city REALLY doesn&#8217;t think it&#8217;s funny.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They posted on ADMITS TO FALLING ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL (11\/05\/2018)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Drinking and driving is extremely dangerous, but so is driving while you&#8217;re exhausted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A study published in the UK by the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety estimated that up to a quarter of fatal accidents are caused by drivers falling asleep behind the wheel. Now a more recent survey of over 20,500 UK drivers finds 13 percent said they have fallen asleep while driving at one point or another.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Men were three times as likely as women to say they&#8217;ve fallen asleep behind the wheel (17% compared to 5%.) Wind speed increases from 0 to 58 kph (36mph) resulted in a 7 percent increase in risk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And when the hours of sunshine without clouds decreased from 10 hours a day to none, heart attack risk went up by 11 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The authors of the study say that changes in physical activity and diet in colder weather may affect heart health.
