\u27a2 <\/span>San Francisco is looking to replace their public trash cans throughout the city . . . And apparently cost was NOT an issue, because the prototypes of the models they’ve had designed cost $20,000 . . . EACH.\u00a0\u00a0 Every trash can.\u00a0 $20,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are more than 3,000 public trash cans throughout the city, so if you do the math, that’s more than $60 MILLION. For the record, the city notes that while the PROTOTYPES will cost up to $20,000, when they have them mass produced the price should come down.<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019re much more difficult to break into which is a huge issue and there’s a sensor inside, which will notify city workers when the trash can is almost full.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With a depth of 60 meters (196 feet), the pool, part of the new \u201cDeep Dive Dubai\u201d attraction, is filled with 14 million liters of fresh water \u2014 the volume of 6 Olympic-sized swimming pools \u2014 and is at least 4 times bigger than any other diving pool in the world. But the coolest part of Deep Dive Dubai is probably the pool\u2019s underwater city. Divers can explore \u201cabandoned\u201d sunken city apartments and play underwater pool in the arcade. State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems have been fitted inside to create different atmospheres. The pool also doubles as an underwater film studio. The facility is open by invitation only for now but will open to the public later this year. And yes, Dubai is already home to the world\u2019s tallest skyscraper and the world\u2019s largest mall\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Guy Steals a Bunch of Stuff from a Store, and Gets Caught After Returning Something He Didn’t Want<\/b><\/p>\n

                    36-year-old Matthew Robinson went to a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Altoona, Pennsylvania on July 3rd.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>(About two hours east of Pittsburgh.)<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

                    And he walked off with almost $2,000 worth of clothes and shoes he didn’t pay for.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    He packed it all in his car and could have just left.\u00a0 But he decided to walk back into the store . . . and RETURN something he didn’t want.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    It’s not clear if he tried to get a refund, or just had no use for it and wanted to give it back.\u00a0 But when he walked in, they accused him of stealing.\u00a0 So he took off.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Cops were able to track him down using surveillance footage from the store.\u00a0 He’s facing charges for retail theft and receiving stolen property.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    A Florida Man Was Arrested for Fighting an Alligator to ‘Teach It a Lesson’<\/b><\/p>\n

                    Remember in\u00a0<\/span>“Happy Gilmore”<\/i><\/b>, when he fights the alligator?\u00a0 Well, this might be the closest thing you’ll see to it in real life . . .<\/span><\/p>\n

                    There’s a mini golf course in Daytona Beach, Florida called Congo River that also has alligators you can feed.\u00a0 And yesterday morning, some guy STOLE one.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Just after 3:00 A.M., police spotted a man FIGHTING an alligator on the street.\u00a0 And it turned out he’d stolen it from the course.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    He’s 32, and his name is William Hodge, but he goes by Bubba.\u00a0 Police posted a photo of him being handcuffed, and the alligator looks fairly small.\u00a0 Maybe four or five feet long.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>(Here’s the\u00a0<\/i><\/b>photo<\/i><\/b><\/a>.)<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

                    According to the police report, cops saw him swinging it around by its tail and trying to toss it on the roof of a building.\u00a0 So they arrested him.\u00a0 And when they asked why he was doing it . . . he said he was trying to teach the alligator a “lesson.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>(???)<\/b><\/p>\n

                    He also told them he jumped a fence into its enclosure, and had to wrestle the gator for a while.\u00a0 But it sounds like it’s okay and back home now.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    ROOMS FOR IMPROVEMENT:<\/b>
                    \n<\/span>The Hilton hotel chain has announced that they will only perform housekeeping services for guests upon request\u2026and experts see it as a growing trend in the hospitality industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                     <\/p>\n

                    As hotel stays plummeted in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, daily housekeeping was one of the first services to be cut, but even as travel revived, daily room tidying is not coming back full-force.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    And guests don\u2019t seem to mind: An August, 2020 survey found that almost two-thirds of travelers feel housekeeping is unnecessary. And many hotels are also considering cuts to other services, including free breakfasts.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            VERY LONG LIFE:<\/b><\/p>\n

                            While more adults are reaching 100 years-old every decade, far fewer make it to the milestone of 110. But a new study says that may soon change.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            Researchers from the University of Washington say their estimates show human lifespans are about to push into uncharted territory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                            They predict that not only will someone break the record for being the oldest living human, it\u2019s almost certain that \u201csupercentenarians\u201d will start living into their 120s this century. In fact, their complicated calculations determined that there is a 99% chance that someone will live to 122 years before 2100, and an 89% chance that someone will hit the age of 126. Currently, the record for the oldest human belongs to Jeanne Calment of France, who died at the age of 122 in 1997. Kane Tanaka of Japan is the oldest living person, at 118.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            Thomas Rhett Is Afraid of Spiders, Roaches . . . and the Dark<\/b><\/p>\n

                            If you check out\u00a0<\/span>THOMAS RHETT’s<\/b>\u00a0Instagram you’ll see shots of him\u00a0<\/span>fishing<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>hunting<\/b><\/a>. \u00a0Y’know, the manly stuff.\u00a0 But you’ll be hard-pressed to find him posing with the creepy-crawlies.\u00a0 Somebody asked about his fears and phobias.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            He said,\u00a0<\/span>quote<\/b><\/a>, “I have a few . . . I don’t know if they’re strange fears, but they’re intense fears. \u00a0I really, really do not like spiders at all. \u00a0I can handle a small one, but anything a bit bigger than that I can’t really deal with it. \u00a0I don’t like roaches either.”<\/span><\/p>\n

                            So I guess if one of his three daughters needs a hero to remove a spider, they call their mom, Lauren.\u00a0 And if they have a scary nightmare, same thing.<\/span><\/p>\n
