\u27a2 <\/span>Police in South Korea said they are investigating after a man bought a used kimchi fridge online and found $130,000 cash taped to the bottom. Police on Jeju Island said the man filed a police report Aug. 6 saying he was cleaning the recently-delivered fridge when he found the cash stash taped to the bottom of the appliance. Investigators said they are working to identify the online seller of the refrigerator and are talking to the people involved in its transportation and delivery. South Korea’s Lost and Found Act states the cash will become the property of the man who bought the fridge if the rightful owner can’t be tracked down. The money will become the property of the state if it is found to have been involved in a crime.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>Disney+\u2019s long-awaited \u201cHome Alone\u201d reboot will debut just in time for the holidays. \u201cHome Sweet Home Alone\u201d will premiere exclusively on Disney+ Nov. 12. The film, which comes over 30 years after the original landed in theaters in 1990, puts a modern twist on the Home Alone story. Home Sweet Home Alone stars Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Archie Yates, Kenan Thompson and Chris Parnell.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2<\/span> CBS will mark 50 years of contestants \u2018comin\u2019 on down\u2019 for \u201cThe Price Is Right\u201d with a 2-hour primetime special next month. Set for September 30, the special will look back at the biggest winners, never-before-seen outtakes and a salute to Bob Barker. More than 68,000 contestants have played The Price Is Right since its debut on September 4, 1972, and 2 million-plus have been in its studio audience. The first prize ever offered on the show was a Chevy Vega worth $2,800 \u2014 some 8,400 car giveaways have ensued.<\/span><\/p>\n

NASA Is Hiring People to Pretend to Live on Mars for a Year<\/b><\/p>\n

After the last year-and-a-half inside, I feel like we all have relevant experience for this job:\u00a0 NASA is looking to\u00a0<\/span>hire four people<\/b><\/a>\u00a0willing to pretend to live on MARS for a full year.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They posted the job recently, and they’re accepting applications until September 17th.\u00a0 But they’re not just taking anyone.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The ideal candidate would be 30 to 55, and have a master’s degree in a STEM field, like engineering or math.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But they’ll also accept applications from people with a bachelor’s degree and some relevant experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The four people who get chosen will live in a 1,700-square-foot enclosed\u00a0<\/span>space<\/b><\/a>\u00a0with no windows for a year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They’ll only eat astronaut food, and have limited contact with friends and family online.\u00a0 It’s not clear how much it pays, but you can head to NASA’s website if you want to\u00a0<\/span>apply<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Handcuffed Criminal Stole an ATV, Hit 70 MPH, and Crashed in a Mud Puddle<\/b><\/p>\n

Cops in Oklahoma City were transporting a guy named Lucas Strider to jail for stealing catalytic converters off people’s cars.\u00a0 And he got away.<\/span><\/p>\n

He managed to open a cop car door, and ran into the woods.\u00a0 Then he found a four-wheeler and stole it. Cops chased him as he blew through stop signs, and hit speeds of over 70 miles an hour.\u00a0 And he did all this while HANDCUFFED.<\/span><\/p>\n

A local news station covered it live, and one anchor was amazed four-wheelers can even go that fast.<\/span><\/p>\n

He eventually got to a spot where the paved road turned into a dirt road.\u00a0 And a cop was parked in the middle blocking him.\u00a0 So he tried to go around their car and crashed in a big mud puddle.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ATV tipped, so he landed in the mud.\u00a0 Then he immediately just gave himself up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thieves Stole Rare Digimon Cards from a Store, and Then Immediately Tried to Sell Them to the<\/b> Same Store<\/b><\/p>\n

Multiple thieves broke into a gaming shop in Australia and stole a “large number” of rare Digimon trading cards and board games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, one of the thieves went back to the same shop . . . LATER THAT DAY . . . and tried to sell them the same rare trading cards that they’d just stolen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, the store recognized the cards, and called the police.\u00a0 The cops then followed the person to the hideout, where they found stolen cards, as well as two other suspects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, two hours later, a separate person went into the same store, and ALSO wanted to sell some of the stolen cards.\u00a0 They were also arrested.\u00a0 So far, the police have charged five people, and are looking for a sixth.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GETTING SCHOOLED ON SHOPPING:<\/b>
\n<\/span>Back-to-school shopping is never a fun thing. And this year, expect it to be worse. Retail experts are predicting there will be shortages of many back-to-school supplies this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why? With more classrooms fully reopening in the fall, industry experts expect very high demand on school merchandise. That demand, along with tight inventory levels and delayed shipments will impact retailers\u2019 ability to keep products on the shelves later in the school shopping season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Products most likely to be in short supply include backpacks, stationery, sports equipment, laptops and tablets. And with supply being tight, consumers shouldn\u2019t think they will see great bargains, either. Discounts will be less generous due to the fact that there is less stock and because of inflation.<\/span><\/p>\n

                  Dan + Shay Signed Over 10,000 Copies of Their New Album<\/b><\/p>\n

                  Last month,\u00a0<\/span>DAN + SHAY<\/b>\u00a0posted a\u00a0<\/span>clip<\/b><\/a>\u00a0of themselves singing about autographing 10,000 copies of their album\u00a0<\/span>“Good Things”<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 Did they accomplish that mission?\u00a0 Yes they did.\u00a0 Here’s what they said in a radio interview.<\/span><\/p>\n
