\u27a2\u00a0 <\/span>Well, this is something you don’t hear about every day . . . a guy\u00a0<\/span>standing<\/span><\/a>\u00a0on the top of an Escalade while going 85 mph down a Detroit highway.\u00a0 He was joyriding and wearing chains, so he couldn’t fall off.\u00a0 (Here’s Lonnie Webster, a guy that saw it happen.)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>A\u00a0<\/span>rookie cop<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Washington named Taylor Brandt is being honored.\u00a0 Because in her first year on the job, she’s already saved NINE lives.\u00a0 She specializes in “Tactical Emergency” care.\u00a0 So she’s kind of like a cop-slash-EMT.\u00a0 Two weeks into her field training, she saved a guy who’d been shot multiple times.\u00a0 And she’s saved eight more people since then.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>Spirit Airlines started charging people for carry-ons in 2010.\u00a0 Now airlines charge for EVERYTHING, and other airlines have followed suit.\u00a0 So could the same thing happen with HOTELS next?\u00a0 Well, it’s already started.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Wall Street Journal”\u00a0<\/i><\/b>just\u00a0<\/span>did<\/b><\/a>\u00a0a big\u00a0<\/span>story<\/b><\/a>\u00a0on a company called MCR Development that owns over 100 large hotels.\u00a0 They’re the fourth-largest hotel operator in the U.S., and they’ve been testing out the \u00e0 la carte business model.<\/span><\/p>\n

Around a dozen of their hotels now charge $25 to use the pool . . . $20 to check in early . . . another $20 to check out late . . . and an additional fee to use the gym.\u00a0 They claim it’s going to allow them to offer rooms at slightly cheaper rates.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>Heidi Klum was on “The Tonight Show” the other night, where she\u00a0<\/span>defended<\/span><\/a>\u00a0her fried spaghetti recipe.\u00a0 Apparently this is a common way to make spaghetti in Germany: fry the noodles, add an egg, and top it with ketchup.\u00a0 (From “The Tonight Show” on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.)<\/span><\/p>\n
