\u27a2 <\/span>Bold and Bossy is a racehorse . . . and on Saturday she was supposed to race at Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky.\u00a0 But then she felt a little BOLD AND BOSSY.<\/span><\/p>\n

She bucked off her jockey, and TOOK OFF.\u00a0 She escaped the track, and started running down the highway,\u00a0<\/span>alongside the cars<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0 Thankfully, she wasn’t hit, despite running for 30 minutes . . . at full speed . . . down multiple interstate highways.<\/span><\/p>\n

She eventually got exhausted and slowed down, and she was taken in by a veterinarian who was in pursuit, along with trainers, an animal ambulance, and the local police.\u00a0 She was sedated and taken to a barn to relax and rest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Except that in the middle of the night, a terrible\u00a0<\/span>FIRE<\/b><\/a>\u00a0started in the barn, and it wasn’t long before the whole place was engulfed in flames.\u00a0 Bold and Bossy was rescued by some “unknown hero,” along with the other horses in the barn.<\/span><\/p>\n

She suffered burns to her neck and shoulder-area, but it sounds like she’ll be okay.\u00a0 It’s unclear what this means for her racing future . . . but after all this trauma, I think she’s earned a quiet, pampered life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u27a2<\/span> A giant rubber ducky made a surprise appearance in a Maine harbor, and officials have no idea who put it there \u2014 or why. Harbor Master Katherine Given says the giant yellow duck, with the word \u201cJoy\u201d written in large letters on its front and estimated to be 25 feet tall, appears to be anchored in the shallow part of the harbor. She says because it is in shallow water, it isn\u2019t a navigational hazard, and \u201ca lot of people want to keep it here.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>This definitely wasn\u2019t on anyone\u2019s shopping list. Shoppers at a grocery store in Sydney, Australia were recently shocked when a large snake slithered across a shelf in the spice section. Hilary Leigh posted a video of the animal as it made its way across the shelf.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another witness says the python \u201cjust wanted to say hello.\u201d workers cordoned off the area to keep customers safe, and a snake catcher soon came to put the snake outside safely.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a2 <\/span>Michael Keaton agreed to return as \u2018Batman\u2019 because he saw it as a challenge to see if he can \u201cpull that off\u201d. Keaton has agreed to put the Batsuit back on after nearly 30 years, appearing alongside Ezra Miller in \u201cThe Flash.\u201d <\/span>On “The Tonight Show”, Michael Keaton talked about playing Batman again in “The Flash” movie.\u00a0 He told a great story about Jack Nicholson on the 1989 “Batman” set.\u00a0 <\/span>The Flash is set for release in Nov. 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

                  PAINTING BOUGHT AT THRIFT STORE COULD BE WORTH MORE THAN $20K:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

                  A man who bought a painting from a British Columbia, Canada, thrift store for $96 said he discovered the piece could be worth more than $20,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  Stephen Burgess regularly buys art and frames from thrift stores to decorate his home, and on his recent visit to Value Village in Courtenay, a painting in an ornate frame caught his eye.\u00a0Burgess did a\u00a0Google\u00a0search for the artist’s signature, Wijmer, and determined it was likely a mass-produced print of a piece by Dutch artist\u00a0Gerritjen Wijmer, who was born in 1870.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  He bought the painting for $96, intending to reuse the frame elsewhere, but during a closer examination, he found a stamp from Munich, Germany, on the back of a canvas and oil brush strokes on the perimeter of the canvas under the frame, indicating it\u00a0could be an original.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  One of the artist’s most famous paintings, “Mountain Mist,” recently was\u00a0auctioned for $200,000, indicating Burgess’ find could be much more valuable than the price he paid. According to\u00a0Burgess,\u00a0 Wijmer paintings can sell for $20,000 to $350,000, depending on their condition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 38-year-old Cabrera hit the solo home run in the sixth inning of the Tigers’ 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Fans in Toronto’s Rogers Centre gave him a standing ovation as he rounded the bases. Cabrera won the Triple Crown in 2012 and the first of back-to-back MVP awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    1. Hockey Hall of Famer\u00a0Rod Gilbert, who spent his entire 18-year NHL career with the New York Rangers, died on Sunday (August 22nd). He was 80. Gilbert played in the 1960s and ’70s, ending with 406 regular-season goals and 34 goals in the playoffs, and holds Rangers records for goals and points. Gilbert spent many\u00a0years in the Rangers organization after the end of his player career, and his Number 7 jersey was the first number ever to be retired by the Rangers in 1979.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          Dustin Lynch Brought a 17-Year-Old Girl on Stage to Sing, and It Went Viral<\/b><\/p>\n

                          In case you haven’t seen this,\u00a0<\/span>DUSTIN LYNCH<\/b>\u00a0brought a 17-year-old girl onstage to sing with him at Country Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin back in June.\u00a0 And videos of it have gone viral.<\/span><\/p>\n

                          Her name is Hailey James and she sang\u00a0<\/span>MacKenzie Porter’s<\/b>\u00a0part of the duet\u00a0<\/span>“Thinking ‘Bout You”<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 It all started when Dustin asked the crowd if anyone wanted to sing a song with him on stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

                          Hailey’s parents and some of their friends who go to Country Fest every year were pointing at her.\u00a0 They knew she was a good singer because she posts videos of herself on TikTok.\u00a0 And she was up to the challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

                          Here’s what she said in an interview.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Quote<\/b><\/a>, “Dustin took my hand, and I was just walking him across the stage like I owned it.\u00a0 I remembered the words, I acted like I was supposed to be up there, and [my parents] were super proud of me.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
