{"id":25390,"date":"2021-10-07T05:15:27","date_gmt":"2021-10-07T09:15:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=25390"},"modified":"2021-10-07T05:15:27","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T09:15:27","slug":"turning-pianos-into-canoes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/good-news\/2021\/10\/turning-pianos-into-canoes\/","title":{"rendered":"Turning Pianos Into Canoes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While British Columbians developed new hobbies over the pandemic, one Surrey man decided to jazz up three pianos destined for the dump, and turn them into a canoe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">George Klassen, who has been a piano technician for over 40 years, says he found himself with an unplanned two-month break from work when the COVID-19 lockdown was implemented last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coming across some cedar strip canoes listed on Facebook ended up prompting an odyssey of discovery for Klassen and his family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Every day old pianos are just going to the dump.
