Ryan Hurd and his Grammy-winning wife, Maren Morris have the #1 spot on this week\u2019s U.S. Country Radio Mediabase chart with “Chasing After You.”<\/p>\n

The song is from his album Pelago, which he said was inspired by growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s amazing to finally be able to do a song with Maren, we\u2019ve worked together, and we\u2019ve written together, and we met each other writing songs, and we\u2019ve sung on each other\u2019s records, but this is the first time we\u2019ve ever gotten to do a song this forward-facing, which is fun. It\u2019s actually a song we didn\u2019t write, which should tell you how much we actually love it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Maren said it was great to finally record the song.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019ve loved this for like five or six years, it\u2019s sort of the demo that wouldn\u2019t quit for us. Our friends wrote it, but we really I guess heard ourselves in the lyrics and it just still rang true today. I feel like whether you\u2019ve been with someone for two seconds or twenty years, you\u2019re always longing for them. I feel like touring and being away from each other gives an element of that, like you\u2019re still chasing me down, I\u2019m chasing you down. So this song will always kind of befitting.
