Luke Combs debuted his brand new song, “Doin’ This,” during last week’s CMA Awards in Nashville.<\/p>\n
It’s about doing this very job that just after performing landed him his first CMA Entertainer of the Year award.<\/p>\n
He told reporters in the press room that writing songs and singing them was always the plan for his life no matter how little or much money or success he had.<\/p>\n
“There was never a plan B. Once I decided that this is what I was gonna do, it’s what I was gonna do whether that was at this level or at the level that I was at when I started. Music is the thing that I think makes everybody who does what I do’s blood pump and gets them out of bed in the morning, and just to be able to do that and write a song about it that you feel like genuinely can connect with some of your peers is really cool.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Luke also said he wrote the song in response to a popular question he gets asked during interviews — if you weren’t singing country music what else would you be doing?<\/p>\n
