{"id":26472,"date":"2021-11-28T07:00:02","date_gmt":"2021-11-28T12:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=26472"},"modified":"2021-11-19T10:58:21","modified_gmt":"2021-11-19T15:58:21","slug":"alan-jackson-releases-song-written-by-daughter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2021\/11\/alan-jackson-releases-song-written-by-daughter\/","title":{"rendered":"Alan Jackson Releases Song Written By Daughter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alan Jackson has released a new song called &#8220;Racing The Dark&#8221; that is a collaboration with his daughter Mattie Jackson Selecman.<\/p>\n<p>They co-wrote and recorded the song for release in conjunction with Mattie&#8217;s first book called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomasnelson.com\/p\/lemons-on-friday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lemons On Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the book, Mattie shares her journey of facing the most heartbreaking loss of her life \u2013 the sudden and tragic passing of her husband Ben Selecman from a traumatic brain injury just 11 months into their marriage. Alan said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m really surprised how well she was able to handle all that. I know I couldn\u2019t have done what she\u2019s done. One day she came to me with this piece of paper and said, \u2018I wrote this song\u2026the lyrics,\u2019 and asked me to put it to music.
