Matthew, Edna Marion (nee Ferguson)\u00a0passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Copper Terrace Nursing Home at the age of 96.<\/p>\n
Edna was born in London Township on January 14, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Jeffus and Elsie (nee Pitcher) Ferguson.<\/p>\n
Beloved wife of the late Starr Matthew (1965).<\/p>\n
Loving mother of Freda and the late Wayne Zander of London, Jean and Gerald (Doc) Deline and Garnet and Sienie Matthews all of Chatham.<\/p>\n
Sadly missed by 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.<\/p>\n
Dear sister of Norma Gale of London.<\/p>\n
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Predeceased by her son Gary (1947), her sisters, May, Alma, Dorothy and her brother Edward.<\/p>\n
The family will receive family and friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.<\/p>\n
Vigil prayers will be held Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. and a Women of the Moose Lodge #304 Service Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon St, Chatham, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10 a.m., Fr. Jim Higgins, Celebrant.<\/p>\n
Interment will be held at St. Anthony Cemetery.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, the family are requesting donations in memory of Edna to C.N.I.B or the Canadian Diabetes Association.<\/p>\n
