{"id":33875,"date":"2023-03-15T04:59:14","date_gmt":"2023-03-15T08:59:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=33875"},"modified":"2023-03-15T04:59:14","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T08:59:14","slug":"leafs-captain-make-a-kids-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/good-news\/2023\/03\/leafs-captain-make-a-kids-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Leafs Captain Make A Kids Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Henry Pye, 11, had a large tumour removed last December at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He couldn\u2019t sit up, move his head, open his eyes or talk for several days after the operation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once he started to make progress and regain strength, his family began to think about ways to celebrate his recovery.\u00a0 They decided to take him to a Leafs game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A fun night at Scotiabank Arena became so much more thanks to a random act of kindness from a stranger and Leafs Captain John Tavares.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First, an usher invited Henry to join a few other kids and fist-bump players as they took the ice. With mobility still an issue after surgery (Henry now uses a walker while his recovery continues) the usher and another man helped carry Henry down near the tunnel, and back to his seat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That was just the start. A family seated nearby then invited Henry and his mom to join them at a post-game meet-and-greet with Tavares.
