{"id":3464,"date":"2019-01-17T09:35:39","date_gmt":"2019-01-17T14:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=3464"},"modified":"2019-02-11T10:34:48","modified_gmt":"2019-02-11T15:34:48","slug":"on-todays-show-82","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/mornings\/2019\/01\/on-todays-show-82\/","title":{"rendered":"On Today&#8217;s Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If there was ever a sign of having TOO MUCH MONEY, this is it.<\/p>\n<p>A guy in Silicon Valley, California pays $1,500 a month so two\u00a0cats\u00a0can have their own apartment.\u00a0 They&#8217;re his daughter&#8217;s, but she couldn&#8217;t keep them in her college dorm in L.A.\u00a0 And he couldn\u2019t keep them at his place, because they don&#8217;t get along with his dog.\u00a0 So he rented an apartment for them, in the most expensive real estate market in the country.\u00a0 It&#8217;s 400 square feet, and doesn&#8217;t have a bathroom.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the landlord, who says the housing market is crazy, and the cats are living large.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A video\u00a0of two teenagers in Illinois trying to figure out how to use a rotary phone is getting some attention.\u00a0 It took the pair more than a minute simply to recognize that Step 1 involved lifting the receiver and they don&#8217;t realize you need to spin the rotary all the way round, and every time they mess up, they think they have to &#8216;reset&#8217; the phone by lifting the receiver and hanging it up again.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWhat\u2019s with all the holes?\u201d one says before finally realizing you have to stick your finger in a numbered hole and spin the rotary mechanism to dial a specific number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ENTERTAINMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEVE CARELL<\/strong>\u00a0and the people behind\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;The Office&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0are developing a Netflix comedy series called\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Space Force&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>, which was inspired by\u00a0<strong>President Trump&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0idea to make a space-oriented, sixth branch of the military.<\/p>\n<p>Steve will star on the show, which is simply being called\u00a0<em>&#8220;Space Force&#8221;<\/em>.\u00a0 It&#8217;ll be a, &#8220;workplace comedy about the people tasked with creating the Space Force.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Steve has been doing a lot of &#8220;serious&#8221; movie roles recently, so this must be a project that he REALLY believes in.\u00a0 Well that and the\u00a0<em><strong>&#8220;Hollywood Reporter&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0says he&#8217;s getting MORE THAN $1 MILLION PER EPISODE.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be making a stop in Dog River. The Comedy Network has announced that Trudeau will make a cameo appearance on \u201cCorner Gas Animated\u201d this spring.\u00a0 That will continue a long-running tradition for the show, with Corner Gas welcoming every sitting Prime Minister to Dog River since its inception in 2004. All three of the people in the car were arrested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>TODAY\u2019S GOOD NEWS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A pregame snowstorm didn\u2019t slow the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, but it made game day stressful for one Chiefs player.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Backup guard\u00a0JEFF ALLEN\u00a0got stuck in the snow while driving to the game. A Good Samaritan with a truck helped him out of the bind, and Allen made it to the playoff game without further trouble.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Allen wanted to reward the man for his help, but there was a problem. He didn\u2019t get his contact information. He reached out on Twitter for help to identify the man he knew only as Dave, while noting that his helper didn\u2019t realize he was a Chiefs player when he gave him a hand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To nobody\u2019s surprise, Twitter supplied plenty of volunteers looking to cash in on Allen\u2019s offer of AFC championship game tickets. But Allen wrote on Sunday that he tracked down the right Dave. A TV station in Kansas City connected with Dave, who told him he lives in his truck. \u201cAfter I got done helping him, he told me he was a Chiefs player, I didn\u2019t look at him as no Chiefs player. I just looked at him as a normal person. I would hope that he\u2019d do the same for me as I did for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dave said that he didn\u2019t expect anything in return, but when he got the news of the Chiefs tickets, it made him emotional.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a natural habit for me is to help people,\u201d Dave said. \u201cI wasn\u2019t expecting anything in return.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s like a dream come true. I\u2019d seen the message this morning. And I\u2019m not even gonna fake with you. New Commercial Addresses &#8220;Toxic Masculinity&#8221;<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t seen it, a new Gillette commercial called &#8220;We Believe&#8221; has gone viral.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a response to the #MeToo movement and it asks men to &#8220;shave their toxic masculinity.&#8221;\u00a0 It&#8217;s filled with clips of men and boys misbehaving in ways that are no longer accepted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stuff like bullying, mansplaining, and sexual harassment. \u00a0Then they go back to those scenes and have men step in and change that discuss the situation with them, but never showed.<\/p>\n<p>So, the cops issued a warrant and he finally turned himself in.\u00a0 He&#8217;s since been released without bond.\u00a0 If convicted, he could face up to $5,000 in fines, and one- to five years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>A woman in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania was arrested back in May, and has been harassing the cop who arrested her ever since.\u00a0 As in, she wanted to date him.\u00a0 She&#8217;s been sending him drawings, and calling 911 just to talk to him.\u00a0 And on Monday she got\u00a0arrested\u00a0again, for breaking into the police station and rummaging around in his office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>A guy in Manitoba was pulled over for going 145kmph.\u00a0 And when the cop asked for an explanation, he\u00a0said\u00a0he couldn&#8217;t help it . . . because &#8220;Kickstart My Heart&#8221; by Motley Crue was on the radio.\u00a0 The cop knew he was telling the truth too, because he was also listening to the same station.\u00a0 But he still wrote him a $482 ticket.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>_______________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Brantley Gilbert&#8217;s Next Album Have Songs About Washing Clothes and Taking Care of a Baby?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been fun watching\u00a0<strong>BRANTLEY GILBERT<\/strong>\u00a0go from a gruff, biker dude to a gentle soul who cries just talking about his one-year-old son Barrett.\u00a0 But he&#8217;s not ashamed of it and admits it totally influenced his next album.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s one song in particular that came to him soon after the kid was born.\u00a0\u00a0Quote, &#8220;I wrote a song [while] we were in the hospital room with him.\u00a0 It&#8217;s one of those things that it&#8217;s something I don&#8217;t think God made words for . . .<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So writing a song about it is harder than I ever thought it would be but [I&#8217;m] really proud of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He says he&#8217;s so deep into that family place that he might have to dip into his memory vault for future albums.<\/p>\n<p>Quote, &#8220;After this record here, we&#8217;re probably going to have to reminisce a good bit on records because nobody wants to hear a whole [album] about washing clothes and taking care of a baby.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no release date on the new album, but it&#8217;ll be out sometime this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>DIERKS BENTLEY HAS TWO TV PROJECTS IN THE WORKS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dierks Bentley\u00a0<\/strong>recently revealed that he&#8217;s been working in a TV show for the Fox network, but now comes news that he&#8217;s got a second television project in the works, and it centers around his 90&#8217;s cover band,\u00a0<strong>Hot Country Knights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Dierks told\u00a0<em>CMT<\/em>, &#8220;It&#8217;s more of a\u00a0<em>Spinal Tap<\/em>\u00a0meets\u00a0<em>Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>\u00a0kind of situation.&#8221; For that, he&#8217;s working with one of the main writers behind\u00a0<em>Modern Family<\/em>. Dierks adds that nothing is in stone, however, saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m learning a lot about the TV business.<\/p>\n<p>The TV project that Dierks talked about last year centers around a bar in Nashville and its music business hopeful regulars who are all trying to make it big in Music City a la 1980&#8217;s sitcom\u00a0<em>Cheers<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Dierks is in Hamilton, ON tonight (Thursday, January 17th) for the launch of his\u00a0<em>Burning Man<\/em>\u00a0tour.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Burning Man\u00a0<\/em>tour also features Jon Pardi and Tenille Townes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new performance date for\u00a0Alabama\u2019s \u201c50<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Anniversary Tour\u201d will be on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit\u00a0at 7 p.m. All tickets purchased for the originally scheduled date of Thursday, January 10, 2019 will be honored at the newly scheduled show.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are on sale now.
