That\u2019s how I thought I looked best. Sometimes that\u2019s worked for me, sometimes it can work against you. It took me probably years longer to be taken serious, but I wasn\u2019t willing to change it, and I figured if I had the talent, it\u2019d show up sooner or later.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Her image, modelled after the \u201ctown tramp,\u201d was so offensive to the men in her family that her grandfather physically punished her for it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was willing to pay for it. I\u2019m very sensitive, I didn\u2019t like being disciplined \u2013 it hurt my feelings so bad to be scolded or whipped or whatever.
