The mystery of the non-functioning vehicle key fobs has been solved.\u00a0 Residents of the Alberta town of Carstairs, population 4,000, have been plagued for weeks with the problem of their fobs suddenly not working at the local grocery store parking lot, leaving drivers unable to unlock or start their vehicles and setting off the alarms.<\/p>\n
The store posted an update on social media, saying that the problem had been discovered and rectified. \u201cInnovation, Science and Economic Development\u201d, formerly \u201cIndustry Canada\u201d, determined that the source of the interference was \u201cfaulty consumer electronic equipment stuck in transmit mode in the area\u201d.<\/p>\n
