Parker McCollum scored his fourth No. 1 with \u201cBurn It Down\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said the album was actually finished when he wrote it, but that changed after the song came together.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Burn It Down\u2019 \u2014 Liz Rose and Hilary Lindsey and Lori McKenna \u2014 better known as the Love Junkies \u2014 were coming over to my house one day and Liz got there first and she walked into the kitchen and she said, \u2018What are we going to write today?\u2019 And I said \u2018Liz, I\u2019m pretty burnt out on songwriting and the record is done so it could be anything today.\u2019 And she said, \u2018Well, don\u2019t say that. Usually this is when you write the best songs.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think you understand how tired I am. I really don\u2019t want to write,\u2019\u201d says Parker. \u201cBut we did anyways and about ten minutes later, I sort of just out of nowhere sang the chorus for \u2018Burn It Down.\u2019 It just fell out. And everybody in the room was like \u2018Dang, that\u2019s bad ass.\u2019 And so, I would say it\u2019s probably the strongest song on the record and to have those three girls on a cut with me is pretty special. They\u2019ve written some big songs together and they\u2019ve written a lot of really good songs together. And I don\u2019t think I never would have written this song if it wasn\u2019t for them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
