During a recent interview, Blake Shelton revealed how a song he originally discarded eventually became Toby Keith’s No. 1 hit, “I Wanna Talk About Me.”<\/p>\n
Shelton said he would go in the studio singing \u201creally terrible, inappropriate, stupid rap songs\u201d just to shock his producer, Bobby Braddock.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did it so much that he decided he wanted to write me a rap song, and so he went and wrote, \u2018I Wanna Talk About Me. I actually cut the song. I said I wanted to put it on my album, so we went in and recorded it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The track didn’t resonate with Shelton\u2019s focus groups, leading it to be passed to Keith, who turned it into a chart-topping success.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like to think it was meant for Toby. He always used to give me crap about it. He\u2019d say like, \u2018Man, your version must have really sucked.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Meanwhile,\u00a0Blake signed someone’s PROSTHETIC LEG during a show in Greensboro, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
He didn’t even stop the show. He was singing “Neon Light” when they handed it to him with a Sharpie inside.<\/p>\n
He walked it over to a little table on the stage . . . signed the side of it . . . handed it back . . . and kept singing the whole time.<\/p>\n
