Two hundred people\u00a0got stuck\u00a0for 36 hours on an Amtrak from Seattle to Los Angeles this week.\u00a0 A tree fell on the tracks during a snowstorm, and everyone had to stay on the train near a small town in Oregon that didn’t have any power.\u00a0 They finally made it to Eugene, Oregon yesterday.\u00a0 Some people who boarded in Seattle were on the train for over 50 hours.\u00a0 One passenger talked to the news while the train was still stuck, and said people were in better spirits than you’d expect and joked that they should all get together again next year.<\/p>\n

Recently, Michael saw a group of people gathering in front of his house.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then I hear them start to sing and then I start to home in on some of the faces and I look and think, \u2018Wait, I know these people,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michael and Karen were expecting a visit from the adoption agency for a last-minute home inspection to make sure they would provide suitable housing if a family chose them to become the adoptive parents. Agency founder Dean Kirschner tries to make every \u201cGotcha Day\u201d special for new parents. That\u2019s the day many adoptive families celebrate as the anniversary of when an adoption was finalized. When he found out Michael is a firefighter, he decided to coordinate with his department to make the delivery memorable.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Their child, who they named Michael Terrance Faherty III, wasn\u2019t the only surprise.
