David Holston, 18, who does landscaping and snowplowing in Idaho, was visiting his mom in Seattle when a friend gave him the idea to advertise his services there. He published a Craigslist ad, got a $1,000 job offer, and went back to Idaho to get his plow truck. He drove it back to Washington and made $35,000 in four days plowing snow last week<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>TODAY\u2019S GOOD NEWS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A firefighter and nurse with the University of Maryland Medical Center got a surprise delivery Saturday when their soon-to-be adopted son was delivered to their doorstep.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Michael and Karen Faherty met in Reserve Officer Training Corps while student. The two served in the Army and settled down in Baltimore. After four years of marriage and dealing with infertility, they decided to adopt to start their family.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The adoption process took a year and they waited to hear from the agency\u00a0if birth parents had chosen them. Recently, Michael saw a group of people gathering in front of his house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then I hear them start to sing and then I start to home in on some of the faces and I look and think, \u2018Wait, I know these people,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Michael and Karen were expecting a visit from the adoption agency for a last-minute home inspection to make sure they would provide suitable housing if a family chose them to become the adoptive parents. Agency founder Dean Kirschner tries to make every \u201cGotcha Day\u201d special for new parents. That\u2019s the day many adoptive families celebrate as the anniversary of when an adoption was finalized. When he found out Michael is a firefighter, he decided to coordinate with his department to make the delivery memorable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Their child, who they named Michael Terrance Faherty III, wasn\u2019t the only surprise.
