Buck Owens\u2019 iconic Crystal Palace music venue in Bakersfield, California, will close permanently after nearly 30 years, citing a challenging business climate and the Owens family\u2019s desire to step back from management.<\/p>\n
Opened in 1996 by the late country pioneer known for hits like \u201cAct Naturally\u201d and co-hosting Hee-Haw, the Crystal Palace became a celebrated 550-capacity Old West\u2013themed venue featuring live performances, a restaurant, and a museum of Owens memorabilia.<\/p>\n
Over the years, it hosted renowned artists such as Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black, Brad Paisley, and George Jones, and was the site of notable events like Garth Brooks\u2019 2005 proposal to Trisha Yearwood.<\/p>\n
A statement released by the family said…<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is our hope that new owners will step forward to utilize this beautiful venue. Meanwhile, we will do our best to fulfill scheduled commitments we\u2019ve made in the coming months.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
