There’s a family in Ahlen, Germany that apparently owed quite a bit in back taxes.\u00a0 And in November, the authorities showed up at their house to seize their valuables.<\/p>\n
But one of the things they seized was . . . a PUG the family had bought.\u00a0 And Germany has a “dog tax,” which they hadn’t paid.<\/p>\n
So to recoup that tax, the city officials SOLD the family’s dog on eBay for $850 . . . about half of what purebred pugs sell for.<\/p>\n
And now, just to make this even messier, the pug has needed four surgeries since its new owner bought it . . . so now the new owner is suing the tax officials for falsely advertising that the dog had a clean bill of health.<\/p>\n
