{"id":46728,"date":"2025-12-06T07:00:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-06T12:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=46728"},"modified":"2025-12-03T10:32:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T15:32:42","slug":"megan-moroney-talks-friendship-with-kenny-chesney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2025\/12\/megan-moroney-talks-friendship-with-kenny-chesney\/","title":{"rendered":"Megan Moroney Talks Friendship With Kenny Chesney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/megan-moroney-calls-mentor-kenny-chesney-best-friend-exclusive-11857065\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In an exclusive interview with People StyleWatch, Megan Moroney says that Kenny Chesney is \u201cone of my best friends,\u201d<\/a> and credits the country superstar as being a mentor who significantly boosted her career.<\/p>\n<p>After opening for Chesney on his 2024 Sun Goes Down stadium tour \u2013 her first time performing in large venues \u2013 Moroney said she appreciated how he &#8220;loudly supported me,&#8221; including bringing her out to perform with him each night.<\/p>\n<p>In gratitude, she co-wrote the sentimental duet, &#8220;You Had to Be There,&#8221; released in May, as a gift to Chesney, who loved the song enough to join her on it.<\/p>\n<p>Moroney also credits Chesney\u2019s influence for helping her win the 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think he had a lot to do with that, just because to his industry friends, he was like, &#8216;I believe in her.
