A woman on an Air Transat flight from Toronto to Calgary on Feb. 26 was in the last hour of a flight when she started to feel a fluttering motion on her lower back and as they were about to land she felt a piercing pain in her lower back of being bit.<\/p>\n
She said she was freaking out, trying to grab her sweater, but couldn’t take her seatbelt off to see what it was as the plane was landing.<\/p>\n
“The lights turned on, I looked behind me on the seat and then I saw movement and there was a scorpion<\/strong> that was in the fold toward the back of the chair.”<\/p>\n Maltais\u00a0said the attendant initially went back to her seat and found a gum wrapper, trying to tell her that’s what had stung her. But Maltais\u00a0told her to check again, so\u00a0she did and then spotted the scorpion between the seats.\u00a0Paramedics escorted her off the plane as she said she was having a panic attack. Entertainer Nominees<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The backlash from failing to have any female Entertainer of the Year nominees\u00a0at next month’s ACMs is not going away.\u00a0 This time it was\u00a0LUKE BRYAN<\/strong>\u00a0being asked about it in an interview on Buzzfeed’s\u00a0“Profile”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n He said, QUOTE, “I think it’s always disappointing when women are left out of the Entertainer of the Year categories.\u00a0 It’s something the country music community has taken note of . . . that women aren’t truly getting represented like they need to.<\/p>\n “It’s something on Music<\/strong>\u00a0has launched\u00a0a diversity task force that will, quote, “examine barriers and biases affecting women and underrepresented groups in country music.”<\/p>\n This is clearly a response to the bad press they’re getting for failing to have any female Entertainer of the Year nominees in the past two years . . . and for having NO female winners of that award since\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u00a0back in 2011.<\/p>\n The task force will offer recommendations about how to change things up in the academy as well as the “industry at large.”\u00a0 They’ll be announcing more
