Maren said she&#8217;s thrilled with not only the nomination but the change in the category description.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m excited! I love that the ACMs changed it from Female Vocalist to Female Artist, same with Male Vocalist. I never really understood the title of that category even being a nominee cause what is it? Is it like the best singer that year or is it the woman that had the biggest year? I think it should be more about like work-wise who had just without a doubt the biggest year and so I&#8217;m glad that they changed the title of it. I think that&#8217;s very cool. I don&#8217;t really think I&#8217;m gonna win cause I don&#8217;t think this is like my year right now. I think like my cycle would be next time.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Maren is also set to perform with Brothers Osborne during the live ACM Awards broadcast, airing from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on CBS on Sunday, April 7th.<\/p>\n<p>Maren is currently climbing the charts with &#8220;Girl,&#8221; the title track from her new sophomore album.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Maren Morris is up for Female Artist of the Year, a category formerly called Female Vocalist of the Year, at next week&#8217;s ACM Awards.
