Dolly Parton’s<\/strong> final recording<\/a> is a duet with Bono<\/strong> on U2’s\u00a0<\/strong>upcoming album, “Carnaval De Luz”<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a tender country song called “Torn”<\/strong><\/em>, and Bono said it will serve as the final track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When she got ill, she got out of her bed to sing this song. \u00a0And you can hear that. \u00a0And I can’t even listen to it now . . . She sang her heart out and I cannot believe that’s an 80-year-old woman.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He initially asked Dolly to be part of a project inspired by Irish folk music.  But instead, she offered her song “Torn”<\/strong><\/em>, and Bono and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid <\/strong>rewrote the lyrics around a mother who’s watching her family split apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dolly recorded her vocals in June, and luckily she was able to hear the song before she passed and give her seal of approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
