{"id":6000,"date":"2019-05-10T09:30:45","date_gmt":"2019-05-10T13:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/?p=6000"},"modified":"2019-05-10T05:10:17","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T09:10:17","slug":"on-todays-show-156","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfcofm\/blogs\/mornings\/2019\/05\/on-todays-show-156\/","title":{"rendered":"On Today&#8217;s Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The cops in Punta Gorda, Florida pulled over a car around 3:30 A.M. on Monday for blowing a stop sign.\u00a0 A 22-year-old guy named Michael Clemons was driving and a 25-year-old woman named Ariel Machan-Le Quire was in the passenger seat.<\/p>\n<p>They let the cops search their car, and the cops found a bag with 41 small turtles inside.\u00a0 Then the cops asked if they had anything else.<\/p>\n<p>And Ariel reached into her yoga pants . . . and pulled out a foot-long BABY ALLIGATOR.<\/p>\n<p>Michael and Ariel said they had been collecting animals under an overpass, but they violated the bag limits for reptiles, so they got citations. \u00a0All the reptiles were seized by police and released.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A woman on\u00a0Vancouver Island, near\u00a0Seattle, was about to pull into a parking spot at Costco last Sunday, when another woman zipped in and stole it. \u00a0So they started arguing.<\/p>\n<p>Then the woman who stole the spot decided to defend it . . . with a\u00a0MACHETE.<\/p>\n<p>She reached into her car . . . pulled the machete out . . . and acted like she was about to swing it.\u00a0 So the other woman backed off and called the cops.<\/p>\n<p>Police were able to identify the machete woman.\u00a0 She&#8217;s\u00a029\u00a0years old, and agreed to be interviewed by cops after she saw the story on the news.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not clear what kind of charges she might face, or why she had a machete in her car.<\/p>\n<p><strong>______________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ENTERTAINMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cPok\u00e9mon Detective Pikachu\u201d (PG, Action\/Animation): \u00a0In a world where people collect Pok\u00e9mon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective. Fathers take an average of 1 minute 36 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>The world record for the oldest mother is held by 72-year-old Daljinder Kaur of India, who gave birth in 2016 after IVF treatments.<\/li>\n<li>The average age of new moms today is 25 years old \u2014 versus 21 years old in 1970.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>____________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>TODAY\u2019S GOOD NEWS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s this for a Mother&#8217;s Day story:\u00a0 There&#8217;s an 81-year-old in Ireland named\u00a0Eileen Macken, who grew up in an orphanage and never knew her parents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She started searching for her mom when she was 19, and kept searching for 60 years but never found her.\u00a0 Then last year, she told her story on a radio show in Ireland.\u00a0 And a genealogy expert who happened to be listening offered to help.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And after some digging, they found out her mom was STILL ALIVE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Her name is Elizabeth.\u00a0 She lives in Scotland and turns 104 years old this weekend.\u00a0 And last month, Eileen flew to Scotland to meet her for the very first time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Eileen&#8217;s family was a little worried about her traveling, because SHE&#8217;S so old.\u00a0 And she&#8217;s had some health issues.\u00a0 But she told them she HAD to do it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apparently her mom had no idea she was coming.\u00a0 Eileen just showed up at her door, and her half-brother answered. [&#8220;It&#8217;s a really big time of year for everybody. Even if it&#8217;s just to get to spend a little time with your mom. You know, it&#8217;s not necessarily all about, you know, getting her a gift, it&#8217;s about just saying, &#8216;Thank you.&#8217; I mean, they really do shape so much of your life. Your parents do. And your mom&#8217;s always a big person. Especially for me. She raised us for a little while, me and my sister, basically by herself. Before my stepdad, who I call my dad, came in the picture, it was just her. And we . . . I never, as a kid, wanted for anything. And that was how my mom looked at everything. And that&#8217;s how a lot of moms do, and I think that&#8217;s why we have a Mother&#8217;s Day. Just some of the stuff they do, that they give up for their children, really to make sure you have a great life and a great experience as a child.
