He joked around saying his dad told him he&#8217;d never amount to anything, and that he planned to be &#8220;just as crappy&#8221; to his kids.<\/p>\n<p>The point being that his dad expected a lot, and it worked.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;He was pretty hard on me growing up and I&#8217;m grateful that he was.
