Carrie Underwood returned for her sixth season of performing the theme song for Sunday Night Football on NBC on Sunday, September 9th as the Green Bay Packers played host to the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

She co-wrote the new opening tune, \u201cGame On,\u201d with frequent collaborators, Brett James and Chris DeStefano.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so excited to be asked back to sing the opening for Sunday Night Football. This is the sixth year that I\u2019ve been lucky enough to do it. We wrote a new song for it, because I feel like they\u2019re always open to that and they\u2019re always looking for ways to freshen things up. So, they always just say, \u2018Hey! If you\u2019ve got anything else back there, whatever you\u2019re working on, bring it. We\u2019ll see how we feel about it.\u2019 This year we wrote a song called \u2018Game On\u2019 for the opening, and it was just a lot of fun. It\u2019s a lot of fun getting to be a part of football. I grew up watching football, of course, and watching Sunday Night Football, and to just to have kind of a little part to the whole thing is pretty cool and pretty special.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
