A man and woman in western Pennsylvania\u00a0are\u00a0facing fraud charges after they faked a pregnancy to get free baby shower gifts, and bought a realistic doll to make people think the woman gave birth.\u00a0 Then they faked the baby’s DEATH, so they could bilk their friends and family out of more money to pay for the funeral.\u00a0 A few of their former friends talked to reporters about it, including the woman who organized the baby shower.<\/p>\n

McNulty said, “Following [Millie’s] unexpected death, I informed\u00a0my manager I could not come into work as I was too devastated and physically sick to do so. Instead of being shown the compassion and sympathy stated in the contract, I was sent a number of nasty messages and told I had to cover my shift as no bereavement time was allowed for pets.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She didn’t show up for the shift and was fired.
