A 63-year-old guy in Minnesota is facing\u00a0charges after he dumped thousands of screws on the road near his ex-girlfriend’s house, to prevent her from driving to see her new boyfriend.\u00a0 Around 150 people ended up with flat tires, and a reporter\u00a0talked\u00a0to a few of them last week, before cops caught the guy.<\/p>\n

The almanac sees areas east of the Rockies to Quebec and the Maritimes bear the brunt of the cold conditions and areas from the Prairie provinces into the Great Lakes to be the most frigid.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The coldest outbreaks in late January into early February are forecast to hit those in the Prairies.\u00a0 It also suggests this cold blast will bring intense bursts of heavy snow, especially in the snowbelt area of Ontario.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Across the country, January looks to be especially stormy with frequent bouts of heavy precipitation, along with strong and gusty winds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe middle part of Canada is going to get whacked. January in particular, there\u2019s a spell in there where there\u2019s some storms that are maybe 60 centimetres,\u201d Geiger said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a very cold winter with some interludes. Currently the game contains nine different locations throughout the house: Kitchen, Ballroom, Conservatory, Billiard Room, Library, Study, Hall, Lounge and Dining Room, giving players over 324 different possibilities to solve the crime.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n You can vote before September 9th to replace the hall with a guest room, bathroom, drawing room, or a remodeled version of the hall.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They’ll announce the winner on October 21st, and roll out the new version of the game in December. \u00a0It’s not clear if this is going to be a permanent change or if they’ll roll back to the original hall for future editions.<\/p>\n ____________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n 55% of Us Regularly Worry About Things We Can’t Control<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Do you ever catch yourself stressing about things you can’t even control?\u00a0 A new survey found 55% of Americans do it on a regular basis.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The question they asked was, “How often do you worry about things which are outside of your control?”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 55% said “very often” or “somewhat often” . . . 35% said “not very often” . . . 7% claimed they never do . . . and 3% didn’t answer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 62% of women said they do it, compared to 47% of men.\u00a0 And millennials are more likely to do it than any other age group . . . 65% compared to 58% of Gen Xers, and 47% of Baby Boomers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The survey also asked people which part of their life they’d like to simplify the most.\u00a0 And “finances” was the number one answer.\u00a0 The top five things we’d like to simplify are<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/strong>____________________________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n CAN DRINKING A HOT TODDY REALLY CURE YOUR COLD?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Summer’s almost over, which means your first cold likely isn’t too far off.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So does drinking a hot toddy actually help you recover from a cold faster, or is it just an excuse to have some whiskey? A classic hot toddy consists of whiskey, honey, and lemon, and science is kind of divided on whether it’ll actually help you feel better.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For one thing, the lemon in the drink provides vitamin C, and a 2013 study found the vitamin might actually help reduce the duration of your symptoms if taken at a higher dose. The only trouble is your need up to two grams of vitamin C to feel any effects, and lemon only has about four milligrams per wedge.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The honey might be good for you too, as it contains some compounds that are thought to boost your immune system but there are no studies to show honey’s effects on the common cold. Drinking it hot is good for you too, as sipping hot liquids helps move germs and mucus out of your system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As for the whiskey? Studies have shown that drinking alcohol at higher amounts can suppress your immune system– but having just one hot toddy likely isn’t enough to make this an issue.
