Dodging Snow-Magedon 2.0 January 2026
February 2, 2026 12:29 pmIt’s not often I post, but this is an experience I wanted to share, especially if you, a family member, coworker or friends have dietary issues and think your travel is limited; Royal Caribbean might work for you! We truly enjoyed it! Now clearly the gods were working in our favor when we planned last summer, to be away the last week of January . We dodged Snow-Magedon Ontario 2.0 by one day as we jetted off for our cruise. One of the destinations, Belize, was a dream of a family member to visit where we had the BEST TukTuk Belize Tour Guide, Asarg! The other thing we got done off our list was Peter had always wanted to be away on a vacation for his birthday! So we sailed into the warmth on a cruise line we’d never tried before, Royal Caribbean, on the Rhapsody Of The Seas and I found that I actually prefer smaller ships, even though the cabins were smaller than we’ve experienced on other cruise lines. The big icon ships that dwarfed our little Rhapsody, looked really big, almost too much to take in. I won’t say never, but the size of the Rhapsody was one of the things I really liked. The comedians they had onboard for show were top notch & I’d love to see them again. Greg Vaccariello was fantastic and I hope he’ll continue with Royal Caribbean and that other cruise lines will pick him up. He definitely knows how to entertain! As I’ve grown older, my food allergies have become a really pain…so I was a little nervous, not knowing how it would be. You’re paying all this money for a wealth of food, treats and drinks, so you don’t want to waste that and you want to enjoy it all. But between a family members special diet and my limited diet, it was handled beautifully; Our main dining room manager Saraj & team, served with attention to detail, delicious options and zero risk of a sick tummy. That makes me want to book another one sooner as opposed to later…so we just might! Pics below, if you care to check them out!
