Feel Good Friday – Shop Local
December 18, 2020 2:58 pmEvery Friday we team up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton-Kent to share different ways you can continue to take care of your mental health, and FEEL GOOD!
This week’s Feel Good Friday is #SHOPLOCAL
We know how important it is to shop local and support our local businesses. It keeps those businesses open. It keeps people working. It keeps our economy strong. It’s never been more important than right now.
This pandemic has taken so much from us. Let’s do what we can to keep supporting those businesses in our community. Not only does it keep people working, but it helps US as well.
With just one week until Christmas, if you are still looking for some really amazing, really unique gifts this holiday season – just look around our community.
“There are so many amazing people who are creating beautiful and unique services and products that would make wonderful gifts.
By supporting local we can build our communities and feel good about our purchases from Canadian-owned and ethically sourced products, and this can be good for your mental health! In fact, a Toronto Star article highlights how shopping locally can help us reconnect to our loved ones by rediscovering their tastes in gifts, and tighten bonds between business owners and the people they serve.
AND REMEMBER- If you are feeling stressed, anxious, or disconnected this holiday season, CMHA Lambton Kent is here for you. If you are in need of immediate assistance, please call the CMHA Mental Health First Response Service, available 24/7 at 1-800-307-4319 (Sarnia) and 1-866-299-7447 (Chatham-Kent).”
It’s been a tough year. Let’s continue to help each other not only get through this, but to help each other. Encourage each other. And love on each other.
