Feel Good Friday – Make Your Bed. Seriously.

Every week the Fox teams up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent for Feel Good Friday. Sharing things you can do to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and FEEL GOOD!

“This week we are talking about little things that can bring us joy and order! Some people think that making your bed is a waste of time (after all, you crawl back in each night!) But research does show that making your bed every morning can bring you a sense of accomplishment and calmness, enhance your organization, improve focus, relaxation and stress reduction.”

Do you make your bed every morning?   Why not try it and see the little benefits is just might have on your mental health.

It worked for me.  Making my bed was something I started doing at the beginning of the pandemic when everything got locked down and I started working from home.

It was never something I ever did before.  Because really, you ARE just getting back in at the end of the day and making a mess again. What’s the point, right?

I noticed it helped me.  For all those reasons above.   In the chaos I felt like it was something I could control something.  It gave me a sense of normal when nothing else was.   Now it’s become such a habit, it bothers me if I DON’T make the bed, even though sometimes I can’t because I have a five month old puppy dog, fighting me for the blankets.  (smile)

Try it.  Start making your bed every morning and see if you notice a change.

Let me know if you do.
