Feel Good Friday – Let’s Go To The Market!

Every Friday the Fox teams up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent for Feel Good Friday – sharing things you can do to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and help you feel GOOD!

Today it’s about the market.  When is the last time you visited an area Farmer’s Market?  I love hitting the Sarnia Farmer’s Market early on Saturday morning and just soaking up the atmosphere.  So much good food all around.  And happy people.  And let’s not forget how good those mini donuts are!  (smile) I can eat a dozen by myself and usually do.  Always some great finds at the Farmers market.  Good food.  And supporting local farmers.  Win win.

But did you ever think that visiting your local farmer’s market could actually be benefiting your mental health?

This week for Feel Good Friday we are encouraging you to visit and support our local farmer’s market!

Not only does it provide you with the opportunity to try new foods that can nourish your brain, but it can also help you build your “bonds!” The farmer’s market is a great place to socialize and connect with your neighbours, which promotes a sense of belonging. How often do you visit the farmer’s market? Remember the next time you go you might not only be leaving with fruits and veggies but also many mental health benefits!

CMHA Lambton Kent is here to help. Our doors remain open. Our Mental Health First Response Team remains available 24/7. Please reach out for help:
